Bartowski is a veteran defenseman that has been around for nearly a decade. He had a decent run in the NHL five years ago but has been an AHLer in recent years. In 2020, he had 18 points (2G / 16A) in 55 games with Iowa and will be on the shortlist to fill a spot in Minnesota if they get hit hard by injuries.
Matt Bartkowski News
Bartkowski appeared in two NHL games a season ago but has spent the entire 2019-20 season-to-date in the AHL. He has tallied one goal and 10 assists (11 points) in 36 AHL games.
Bartkowski, 31, spent most of the 2018-19 season in the AHL, where he had 19 points (4G / 15A) in 70 games. The veteran defenseman had one goal in two games with Minnesota and has 48 points (8G / 40A) in 255 career NHL games.
Bartkowski will serve as a healthy scratch for the eighth time in 10 games as he is replaced by Brett Kulak in the lineup tonight. Bartkowski obviously carries no fantasy value going forward.
Bartkowski, 28, has registered two goals and eight assists (10 points) in 34 games with Providence (AHL) before signing a two-way deal with the Flames earlier this week. He has 42 points (6G / 36A) in 211 career NHL games with the Bruins and Canucks.
Bartkowski, 26, had 18 assists and a plus-22 rating in 64 games with the Bruins last season. 2013-14 was Bartkowski's first full season in the NHL and he proved to be a more than capable NHL defenseman. However, the Bruins are really deep on the blueline and Bartkowski currently sits as their seventh or eighth defensemen and could end up being traded.
Bartowski has yet to appear in a game this season. He had two assists in 11 games with Boston last season.
Bartowski scored a big goal and played 24:51 in Game 7 vs. the Maple Leafs. He will likely have to play big minutes again tonight with the Bruins missing some key defensemen.
With Boychuk and McQuaid out with injuries Bartkowski has been thrust into the Bruins lineup. Bartkowski has three goals and 24 points with 56 penalty minutes in 56 games in the AHL this season. He has no points and a minus-2 in two games with the Bruins.
Boychuk had left the ice after getting hit in leg with puck during practice Friday.
Bartkowski could give the Bruins some depth on the blue line. He has no points in three games this season.
Bartkowski gets sent down after posting no points and a minus-2 rating over three games.
Bartkowski should replace McQuaid on the bottom pairing, playing alongside Andrew Ference. Last season he drew into six games with the Bruins, posting no points with a minus-1 rating.
Bartkowski could make the team in place of Joe Corvo or receive one of the first callups. Last season, the Pittsburgh native scored five goals and 23 points in 69 games with the Providence Bruins. He likely won't hold too much fantasy hockey value this season
