Calvert is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday in Toronto.

Calvert is two and a half weeks removed from a scary incident in Vancouver, where he took a puck off the side of the head. He left the ice bloodied but was a full participant in Monday's practice and is expected to play Wednesday against the Maple Leafs. Calvert is expected to start on the second line with Nazem Kadri and enters the contest with 12 points (4G / 8A) in 20 games this season.

Calvert was hit in the face by a Canucks point-shot in Saturday's win and is out indefinitely. Calvert has travelled back to Colorado and is in concussion protocol. The Avalanche will likely need to call up some reinforcements from Colorado (AHL) to fill-in for Calvert.

Calvert (upper-body) is a “good possibility” to play in Game 4.

Calvert missed Game 3 with an upper-body injury he suffered late in Game 2 but head coach Jared Bednar expects him to play in Game 4. In seven postseason games, Calvert has tallied three assists while averaging just over 13:30 TOI/gm.

The Blue Jackets have activated Matt Calvert (upper-body) from IR.

Calvert has been sidelined by an upper-body injury since November 4th, but could return to the lineup tonight in Washington. To make room for Calvert, the Blue Jackets have moved Ryan Murray (upper-body) on IR. Calvert has three goals and eight assists (eight points) in 14 games this season.
