Mikael Samuelsson News

Forward Mikael Samuelsson, who has been rehabbing core issues since being acquired in the David Booth trade, is still dealing with visa issues as well and was in Vancouver this week. He may join the team in St. Louis for morning skate tomorrow but he won’t play until he takes part in a few team practices.

Samuelsson could play within the next week for the banged-up Panthers. He scored a goal and three points through six games with the Canucks but was playing at a much slower pace.

Santos said Samuelsson was back in Vancouver getting Visa issues corrected but could join the team in St. Louis. Santos said he expects Samuelsson to practice with the team once he joins them and will play once he gets his legs under him.

Samuelsson has yet to suit up for the Panthers, a week after getting traded to the Panthers. Despite his mild success in Vancouver with a goal and three points over six games, the Mariefred, Sweden native probably loses most of his fantasy hockey value.

Winger Mikael Samuelsson, acquired last Saturday in the David Booth deal, joined the Panthers in Ottawa and will travel with the team to Buffalo before returning to South Florida. Samuelsson said he had no timetable for his return to the ice as he is rehabbing after complications from his sports hernia surgery from last May.

Samuelsson may hold some fantasy hockey value down the line but his indefinite timetable and downgrade in team certainly hurt his overall worth. If you need the roster spot badly, he may not be a bad option to dump.
