Fogarty will head back down to Iowa Friday after playing two games for the big club where he failed to collect both a point or even a shot on goal while playing around 10 minutes of ice per night. The six-year NHL veteran will hope to receive the call again so that he can add to his three career NHL points in 31 games.
Fogarty has been recalled under emergency conditions from Iowa (AHL) after recording three points (1G/2A) and a plus-4 rating in six games prior to the call up.
With Jesper Fast out, Fogarty gets the call for Game 2. Expect Julien Gauthier to move up into the top-9, opening up a spot for Fogarty on the fourth line. The 27-year-old had no points in seven regular-season games.
Fogarty has nine goals and 14 assists (23 points) in 32 games with Hartford this season. Fogarty will likely play on the fourth line in his season debut and will replace Brendan Lemieux, who is out 3-to-4 weeks with a fractured hand. Fogarty is a former third-round pick (2011) who has no points in 11 career NHL games.
Fogarty has not registered a point in 10 games with the Rangers this season. His return to the AHL suggests that Mats Zucarrello will be back against the Coyotes on Friday.
Fogarty has registered seven goals and seven assists (14 points) in 19 games with the Wolf Pack this season. The 25-year-old, former third-round pick is expected to make his season debut and second NHL appearance vs. the Stars on Monday.
