Igor Shesterkin is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not dress Saturday vs. Minnesota.

Shesterkin will not dress Saturday vs. Minnesota due to a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day for the time being. The 27-year-old Vezina Trophy winner has had a good start to the season prior to his injury, with his 6-2-0 record, .913 SV% and 2.36 GAA. Jonathan Quick will man the starter's crease in Shesterkins absence while Louis Domingue has been called up for back up duties.

Jonathan Quick will start Saturday in Minnesota,

Quick will take over the Rangers' crease now that Igor Shesterkin is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will start Saturday vs. the Wild. The 37-year-old veteran is in his 17th NHL season and has been sensational in 2023-24, with his perfect 2-0-0 record, .982 SV% and .041 GAA. He will look to keep the good times rolling as the Rangers head to Minnesota Saturday, who looks in shambles after losing four-straight games but are seventh in the NHL in goals per game (3.5).

Jonathan Quick
Barclay Goodrow will miss the Rangers' game Saturday vs. Minnesota due to the birth of his child.

Woodrow will miss Saturday's matchup vs. Minnesota as he left the team due to the birth of his child and should be back for the Rangers game Tuesday. The 30-year-old has struggled so far in 2023-24, with no goals, one assist, four SOG, and 12 PIMs through 10 games played.

Barclay Goodrow
Connor Mackey has been recalled from Hartford (AHL).

Mackey had a goal, an assist, 17 PIMs and a +8 plus/minus in seven games with Hartford (AHL) and has been recalled to the New York Rangers for the first time this season. The 27-year-old returns to the NHL for his fourth career season and has four goals and 11 points in 39 career games played. Mackey will be expected to make his season debut Saturday after it was announced Adam Fox (lower body) had been placed on the LTIR.

Connor Mackey
Louis Domingue has been recalled from Hartford (AHL).

With the announcement that Igor Shesterkin will be out day-to-day with a lower-body injury, New York has recalled Louis Domingue from Hartford (AHL). The 31-year-old veteran netminder was enjoying a successful early season run with Hartford, as he is 3-1-0 with a .934 SV% and 1.75 GAA.

Louis Domingue
Samuel Montembeault will start Saturday vs. St. Louis.

Montembeault will return to the Canadiens' crease after backing up Jake Allen last game and will hope to get them back in the win column after two-straight one-goal loses. The 27-year-old has been decent so far in 2023-24, with his 2-1-1 record, .905 SV% and 2.91 GAA. He takes on the struggling St. Louis Blues, who have lost two straight and rank last in the NHL in shots per game (25.1) and second last in goals per game (1.75).

Sam Montembeault
Kaapo Kahkonen (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision vs. Pittsburgh after missing practice Friday.

Kahkonen missed practice Friday due to an undisclosed injury and will be a game-time decision Saturday vs. Pittsburgh. The 27-year-old is coming off a horrific fourth-straight loss Thursday, where he was pulled after allowing six goals on 19 shots (.684 SV%). He has struggled this season with his 0-4-0 record, .876 SV%, and 4.30 GAA in five games played in 2023-24 and will likely have to be replaced by a goaltender on the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) if he is unable to go.

Kaapo Kahkonen
Nick DeSimone has been recalled from the Calgary Wranglers (AHL).

DeSimone has four assists and a +4 plus/minus in six games with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL) and has been recalled to the Flames Friday for the first time this season. The 28-year-old returns to the NHL, where he failed to pick up a point in a short four game appearance in 2022-23 where he averaged only 11:15 TOI. DeSimone will replace Jordan Oesterle on the Flames who was waived on Thursday afternoon.

Nick DeSimone
Philip Broberg has been reassigned to Bakersfield (AHL).

Broberg dressed as a seventh defenseman for the Oilers on Thursday, recording a -1 plus/mins in only 5:46 time-on-ice, and has now been reassigned to the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL. Broberg has 11 points (2G / 9A) in 77 career NHL games, dating back to the 2021-22 season.

Philip Broberg
Kent Johnson has been reassigned to Cleveland (AHL).

After scoring 40 points (16G / 24A) in 79 games as a rookie last season, Johnson has struggled to stay in the Blue Jackets lineup this season and has seen his time-on-ice drop from 14:31 to 12:50. He has been in and out of the lineup as a healthy scratch and how now been reassigned to the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL. He will likely be replaced by Yegor Chinakhov, who was recalled by the Blue Jackets on Friday.

Kent Johnson
Tyler Tucker will be a healthy scratch Friday vs. New Jersey.

Tucker was a healthy scratch in two of his last three games and will sit in the press box once again on Friday, allowing Robert Bortuzzo to draw back into the Blues' lineup. In six games this season, Tucker registered one point (1G / 0A), six blocks, and nine hits while averaging 12:35 time-on-ice.

Tyler Tucker
Jordan Binnington will start Friday vs. New Jersey.

Binnington's forgettable 2022-23 campaign, where he posted a 3.31 GAA and .894 SV% in 61 games (27-27-6), seemed to be a thing of the past when he started this season with a 1.25 GAA and .959 SV% in his first three games (2-0-1). However, memories of last season are flooding back as Binnington has allowed 12 goals in his last three contests (0-3-0) and posted a .870 SV%. In Binnington's defence, the team in front of him hasn't provided much help as they rank second-worst in the league offensively (1.75 GF / GP). The Blues are +133 home underdogs on Friday against a New Jersey Devils team that ranks second-best in the league offensively, averaging 4.22 goals per game.

Jordan Binnington
Robert Bortuzzo will draw back into the Blues' lineup Friday vs. New Jersey.

Tyler Tucker will be a healthy scratch on Friday, allowing Robert Bortuzzo to return to the Blues' lineup. Bortuzzo has only played two games this season, registering seven penalty minutes and zero points while averaging 9:38 time-on-ice.

Robert Bortuzzo
Adam Fox (lower body) left Thursday's game vs. Carolina in the second and did not return.

After a collision with Sebastian Aho of the Carolina Hurricanes, Fox left Thursday's game after playing only 6:01. He is expected to be reevaluated on Friday and would be a crushing loss for the Rangers if he is to miss any time. Fox has 11 points (3G / 8A) while averaging 21:04 time-on-ice through 10 games this season.

Adam Fox
Ville Husso will start Saturday vs. Boston.

Husso will start for the Red Wings on Saturday and will attempt to get his team back in the win column as they are in the midst of a 1-3-1 run. Husso has registered a very pedestrian 3.28 GAA and .900 SV% but has salvaged a respectable 4-2-1 record as the team has provided him with ample goal support when he is between the pipes, scoring 29 goals in those seven contests. However, the Red Wings take on a Boston Bruins team on Saturday that makes scoring very difficult as they rank first in the league defensively, allowing only 1.60 goals per game.

Ville Husso
Christian Fischer is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Fischer has played primarily on the fourth line with Austin Czarnik and Klim Kostin, recording one point (0G / 1A), 11 shots, and 18 hits through 11 games with the Red Wings. He played 7:47 against the Florida Panthers on Thursday and is out day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
