With Joseph Woll (lower-body) still sidelined, the Maple Leafs will turn to Stolarz between the pipes for the third time in their first four games. The 31-year-old Stolarz was incredible last season, posting a 2.03 GAA and .925 SV% in 27 outings (16-7-2), and has picked up where he left off, showcasing a tremendous 1.54 GAA and .940 SV% through two games this season (1-1-0). Toews was a surprise scratch before Monday's contest against the New York Islanders, with his absence not being announced before warmups. Oliver Kylington drew into the lineup as his replacement. If Toews cannot suit again, it will be a major blow for the Avalanche, one of only four clubs without a win this season (0-3-0).

St. Ivany was a healthy scratch on Monday but will draw back into the lineup on Wednesday, replacing Ryan Shea. The 25-year-old St. Ivany played the first three games for the Penguins this season, recording a -2 plus/minus and two penalty minutes while averaging 17:02 time-on-ice.

Shea will return to the press box as a healthy scratch on Wednesday night when he is replaced in the lineup by Jack St. Ivany. Shea made his season debut for the Penguins in their last outing, recording a -1 plus/minus in 15:48 time-on-ice.

Sogaard's second call-up this week might indicate that Linus Ullmark (muscle strain) is not ready to return to the crease yet. The 23-year-old Sogaard was a last-minute emergency call-up on Monday and opened the contest against the Los Angeles Kings by backing up Anton Forsberg. Sogaard entered in relief of Forsberg midway through the game and allowed four goals on 17 shots (.765 SV%) but salvaged an 8-7 overtime victory.

Holl has not played an AHL game since the 2017-18 season, a trend that will continue, at least for the time being, after being recalled again by the Red Wings. The 32-year-old Holl picked up an assist and two PIMs in two games with the Red Wings this season.

Mahura will draw out of the lineup as Vince Dunn is set to return from an upper-body injury. Mahura played just 13:51 in Dallas on Sunday and was a -1.

The winless Predators (0-2-0) will turn to Saros between the pipes for the second time this season. Saros was serviceable in his season opener on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings, saving 19 of 21 shots (.905 SV%), but received zero goal support in the 3-0 loss. Saros signed an eight-year extension worth $61.92 million ($7.74M AAV) in the offseason and should see a heavy workload in net for the Predators this season. Nashville enters action on Tuesday as a -192 home favorite against the Seattle Kraken.

Johansson has gotten off to a hot start in the first two games of the season with two points but will not play on Tuesday in St. Louis. The 34-year-old was a game-time decision on Sunday but ended up playing 14:57 time-on-ice.

Hill will return to the crease on Tuesday after backing up Ilya Samsonov for the first time this season in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks. The Golden Knights remain undefeated this season (3-0-0) despite unspectacular play from Hill thus far. In two games (2-0-0), Hill is sporting a subpar 3.50 GAA and .870 SV%. With Sergei Bobrovsky in his age 36 season, coming off consecutive long playoff runs, this could be an indication Knight's workload going forward this season. Durzi played only 9:09 time-on-ice before exiting Monday's game against the New Jersey Devils with an upper-body injury. The 26-year-old defenseman was off to a strong start to the season, with two points (0G / 2A), 11 blocks, and seven penalty minutes in three games.
