Michael Carcone (undisclosed) is questionable to play Tuesday after wearing a non-contact jersey in practice Monday.

Carcone was forced to exit the Coyotes' previous game vs. Anaheim after just six shifts and 4:17 TOI due to an undisclosed injury and will be a game-time decision Tuesday after wearing a non-contact jersey in practice Monday. The 27-year-old is in his third NHL season and has a goal, four SOG, four PIMs and a +1 plus/minus through four games thus far in 2023-24.

Michael Carcone
Jake Oettinger will start Tuesday vs. Pittsburgh.

Oettinger will return to the crease after his first rest of the season on Saturday, a 5-4 overtime win for Scott Wedgewood over the Philadelphia Flyers. Oettinger has been terrific to start the season, registering a 1.58 GAA and .943 SV% in three games (2-0-1). The Stars, who have earned at least a point in each game (3-0-1), are -126 road favourites against a Pittsburgh Penguins team that has been outscored 10-5 in their last two outings (0-2-0).

Jake Oettinger was the first goalie off the ice at Dallas' morning skate.

Scott Wedgewood received his first start of the season on Saturday as the Stars will likely turn back to Oettinger on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Oettinger has been terrific to start the season, registering a 1.58 GAA and .943 SV% in three games (2-0-1). The Stars, who have earned at least a point in each game (3-0-1), are -126 road favourites against a Penguins team that has been outscored 10-5 in their last two outings (0-2-0).

Jake Oettinger
Alexandar Georgiev is expected to start Tuesday vs. the New York Islanders.

It appears Georgiev will start again for the Avalanche as they both look to improve to 6-0-0 on the season. Georgiev has been nothing short of spectacular, boasting a 1.58 GAA and .943 SV%, both league-best among goalies that have played at least four games. The Avalanche are -132 road favourites against a New York Islanders team that has the seventh-worst offensive in the league, averaging only 2.25 goals per game.

Alexandar Georgiev
Leo Carlsson will not play Tuesday vs. Columbus as he eases his way back into the Ducks' lineup.

Carlsson is expected to occasionally sit out as he acclimates to the NHL and will not be in the Ducks' lineup Tuesday as they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets. It is a bit of a letdown as fans will have to wait to see the 2023 second-overall pick take on Adam Fentilli (2023 third-overall pick). Carlsson has a goal, six SOG, two PIMs, and a +2 plus/minus in two games thus far in 2023-24 while averaging an impressive 20:16 TOI.

Leo Carlsson
Erik Haula (upper body) will return to the Devils' lineup Tuesday vs. Montreal.

Haula missed the Devils' previous game with an upper-body injury but will return to the lineup Tuesday as they take on Montreal. The 32-year-old was having a great start to 2023-24, with two goals, an assist, nine SOG, four PIMs, and a +1 plus/minus in three games played. He is expected to return to his third-line centre role as he renters the Devils' lineup.

Erik Haula
Nico Hischier (upper body) will be available to play Tuesday vs. Montreal.

Hischier left the Devils' previous game vs. the New York Islanders early in the third period after just 13:20 TOI due to an upper-body injury but will return to the Devils' lineup Tuesday vs. Montreal. The 24-year-old star has surprisingly failed to pick up a point in any of his four games played in 2023-24, but he has seven SOG, two PIMs, and a +1 plus/minus. He will return to the Devils' second line and first powerplay unit.

Nico Hischier
Dylan Coghlan has been recalled from Springfield (AHL).

Coghlan has a goal, an assist, six PIMs, and a -1 plus/minus through five games with Springfield (AHL) and has been recalled Tuesday. The 25-year-old defenseman is in his fourth NHL season and had three assists, and 29 SOG in 17 games played with Carolina in 2022-23. With the injury to Brett Pesce (lower body), Coghlan will provide the Hurricanes with some defensive depth.

Dylan Coghlan
Connor Hellebuyck will start Tuesday vs. St. Louis.

Hellebuyck will start on Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues and look to improve on his uncharacteristically poor start to the season. In four games, Hellebuyck has salvaged a 2-2-0 record despite an unsightly 3.72 GAA and .878 SV%. Hellebuyck has only finished a season with a sub- .910 SV% once in his career and should be able to get back on track against a Blues team that ranks fourth-worst offensively (2.00 GF/GP). As such, the Jets enter action as -182 home favourites.

Connor Hellebuyck
Filip Gustavsson will start Tuesday vs. Edmonton.

After a remarkable 41-save shutout in his season-opening performance, Gustavsson has struggled to find his footing. In three games (1-1-1), Gustavsson has struggled to keep the puck out of his net, posting a 3.93 GAA and .906 SV%. He will look to return to form on Tuesday as the Wild host a McDavid-less Edmonton Oilers team. The Oilers have struggled to score this season, averaging only 2.60 goals per game, and will be hard-pressed to find offence tonight without their captain.

Filip Gustavsson
Jeff Petry (upper body) did not skate Tuesday morning and is considered day-to-day.

Petry is expected to miss his second straight game on Tuesday as he continues to recover from an upper-body injury. The Michigan native is currently listed as day-to-day. He has two points (0G / 2A) and six penalty minutes in four games this season.

Jeff Petry
Alex Nedeljkovic will start Tuesday vs. Dallas.

Nedeljkovic was sensational in his only start of the season as he stopped 34 of 36 shots (.944 SV%) in a victory over Calgary and will likely take the crease Tuesday after being the first goalie off the ice. The 27-year-old signed with Pittsburgh during the offseason and will look to add to his 43-38-15 career record with his .907 SV% and 2.95 GAA. He takes on the Dallas Stars, who have collected points in all four games this season (3-0-1) but are 21st in the NHL in goals per game (2.75).

Alex Nedeljkovic
Petr Mrazek is in the starters' crease at Tuesday's morning skate.

Mrazek appears to be the starter for the Blackhawks on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins. Mrazek hasn't finished a season with a save percentage above .894 in two seasons, but after three games (1-2-0) has a .924 SV% and has played well in each of them. That said, Mrazek and the Blackhawks will have their work cut out for them as they enter their matchup as +203 home underdogs against a Bruins team that has yet to lose (5-0-0).

Petr Mrazek
Chad Ruhwedel will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday vs. Dallas.

Ruhwedel failed to pick up a point or shot in any of his first five games played while averaging just 11:48 TOI and will be the odd man out of the Penguins' lineup Tuesday vs. Dallas. The 33-year-old defenseman is being replaced by John Ludvig, who will be making his NHL debut. When Ruhwedel does return to the Pittsburgh lineup he will be looking to improve on his -3 plus/minus.

Chad Ruhwedel
John Ludvig is expected to make his NHL debut vs. Dallas.

It appears John Ludvig will make his NHL debut for the Penguins on Tuesday against the Dallas Stars. Ludvig was the 69th overall pick of the Florida Panthers in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Last season with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL, Ludvig had 17 points (3G / 14A) in 54 games. He will likely play next to Ryan Shea on the Penguins' third defensive pairing.

John Ludvig
Taylor Hall (shoulder) has been placed on the injured reserve.

Hall suffered a shoulder injury in game two of the season and was initially given a week-to-week prognosis and has been placed on the injured reserve Tuesday. To everyone's surprise, Hall missed only one game and returned to the lineup. Three games later, Hall seems to have reaggravated his shoulder injury and is once again going to be week-to-week because of it. Hall has played primarily with Connor Bedard this season and has two points (0G / 2A) and seven shots in five games. The Blackhawks might welcome Philipp Kurashev back into their lineup on Tuesday, which would help replace Hall on the roster.

Taylor Hall
Jonas Johansson was the first goalie off the ice at Tampa Bay's morning skate.

Johansson will be looking for redemption Tuesday after stopping 48 of 52 shots (.923 SV%) in a loss vs. Toronto in his previous start. The 28-year-old has been up-and-down when filling in for the injured Andrei Vasilevskiy, with his 2-1-2 record, .902 SV% and 3.58 GAA. He is expected to face the Carolina Hurricanes, who are in the midst of a two-game losing streak but rank second in the NHL in goals per game (4.5).

Jonas Johansson
Alex Nedeljkovic was the first goalie off the ice at Pittsburgh's morning skate.

Elvis Merzlikins will start Tuesday vs. Anaheim.

Despite allowing four goals on 28 shots, Merzlinkins recorded his second win of the season on Saturday and will return to the crease on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks. Merzlinkins and the Blue Jackets are -146 home favourites against a Ducks team that is averaging a lowly 2.20 goals per game. The Blue Jackets will, however, be without their star forward Patrik Laine (upper-body).

Elvis Merzlikins
Ilya Sorokin will start Tuesday vs. Colorado.

Sorokin will return to the crease for the Islanders after getting his first night off on Saturday. Sorokin is a safe bet between the pipes on most nights but will be put to the ultimate test on Tuesday as the Islanders face off against the undefeated Colorado Avalanche (5-0-0). In three games this season (2-0-1), Sorokin has a 2.31 GAA and .914 SV% but is coming off his weakest performance thus far, allowing five goals on 39 shots in a 5-4 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.
