Matt Luff has been reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL).

Luff had seven goals, 16 assists, six PIMs and a -5 plus/minus through 25 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) and was recalled to the Red Wings Monday but has been reassigned to the minor Wednesday. The 25-year-old has a goal over seven games played with the Red Wings.

Austin Czarnik has been reassigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL).

Czarnik has two goals, three points, 14 SOG, and a +4 plus/minus through 15 games this season but has been reassigned to Grand Rapids (AHL) Wednesday. The 30-year-old returns to Grand Rapids, where he has 13 goals, 23 assists, eight PIMs and a -4 plus/minus through 42 games.

Jordan Binnington was the first goalie off the ice at the Blues' morning skate.

Binnington allowed four goals on 30 shots (.867 SV%) for his eighth loss in nine games as he was defeated by Vegas in his previous start. The 29-year-old has been having a horrendous season, with his 22-24-5 record, 3.33 GAA and .894 SV%. He will face the Minnesota Wild, who have won six of their last eight games but are 26th in the NHL in goals per game (2.81).

Ilya Samsonov will start Wednesday vs. Colorado.

Samsonov stopped 30 of 33 shots (.909 SV%) for his fourth win in five games as he beat New Jersey in his previous start. The 26-year-old signed a one-year contract in the offseason and has been everything the Maple Leafs' have asked for, with his 23-8-2 record, 2.41 GAA and .915 SV%. He will take on the defending Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche, who have won three of their last four games after a 8-4 win over Montreal last outing.

Georgiev allowed four goals on 19 shots (.789 SV%) but still picked up his third victory in four games as he beat Montreal 8-4 his last time between the crease. The 27-year-old has been sensational in his first season in Colorado, with his 29-14-5 record, 2.65 GAA and .917 SV%. He will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are coming off a 4-3 loss to Buffalo last game and are eighth in the NHL in goals per game (3.42).

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was in the starters' crease for Wednesday's morning skate.

Luukkonen stopped 24 of 26 shots (.923 SV%) for his third-straight loss as he was beaten by the New York Rangers in his previous start. The 24-year-old rookie netminder has been up-and-down this season, with his 15-10-3 record, 3.54 GAA and .895 SV%. He will face the Washington Capitals, who have lost three of their last four games and are 19th in the NHL in goals per game (3.09).

Anton Khudobin has been recalled from Rockford (AHL).

Khudobin was dealt to the Blackhawks at the Trade Deadline as part of the Max Domi deal and had a 13-4-4 record, 2.89 GAA and .899 SV% with the Texas Stars (AHL) and has been recalled to Chicago Wednesday. He will replace the injured Petr Mrazek, who is dealing with a groin injury.

The Maple Leafs have signed Ryan Tverberg to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The 2020 seventh-round pick will join the Toronto Marlies for the remainder of the season on a professional tryout, so this contract doesn't kick in until 2023-24. Tverberg had 30 points (15G / 15A) in 35 games with the University of Connecticut this season.
