He will take on the Colorado Avalanche, who snapped a three-game losing skid with a 6-0 thrashing of San Jose in their previous game.

Jalen Chatfield is considered day-to-day and will not play Thursday due to an undisclosed injury.

Chatfield "tweaked something with his groin" that head coach Rod Brind'Amour does not believe to be serious but he will miss Thursday's game as he is considered day-to-day for the time being. The 26-year-old has five goals, seven assists, 78 SOG, 33 PIMs and a +20 plus/minus through 62 games this season prior to his injury.

MacDermid is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

MacDermid had just returned from a two-week absence with an upper-body injury for one game and is now considered day-to-day with a new lower-body injury. The 28-year-old bruiser has four assists, 17 SOG, 49 PIMs and a -2 plus/minus through 37 games this season prior to his latest injury.

Fabbri is day-to-day with a lower-body injury; questionable to play Saturday.

Fabbri left the Red Wings' previous game after just 4:48 TOI due to a lower-body injury and is now considered day-to-day and questionable to play Saturday. The 27-year-old has seven goals, nine assists, 35 SOG, 22 PIMs and a -1 plus/minus through 28 games this season.

Filip Roos has been recalled from Rockford (AHL).

Roos has three goals, six assists, 18 PIMs and a -5 plus/minus through 28 games with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) and has been recalled to Chicago. The 24-year-old defenseman played in 15 games earlier in the season for the Blackhawks, picking up a goal and two assists.

Hanley will draw into the Stars lineup on Thursday.

Hanley has been a healthy scratch for the Stars' previous two games but will draw back into the lineup for Nils Lundkvist Thursday. The 31-year-old has yet to pick up a point through 16 games this season but has nine SOG and 15 PIMs to go along with his +4 plus/minus.

Oettinger allowed five goals on 37 shots (.865 SV%) to snap a two-game winning streak as he lost to Calgary in his previous start. The 24-year-old will reach a career-high in GP in a season when he takes the crease Thursday and is having his best season to date with his 26-9-10 record, 2.36 GAA and .922 SV%. He will take on the Buffalo Sabres, who have lost four of their last five games after a 3-2 defeat to the New York Islanders last game.

Georgiev is in the starter's crease at the Avalanche morning skate.

Georgiev was perfect in his previous start, picking up his fourth shutout of the season with a 13-save shutout over San Jose. The 27-year-old has been fantastic in his first season as a starter and in Colorado, with his 27-13-5 record, 2.60 GAA and .920 SV%. He will face the Los Angeles Kings, who have won four-straight games and are 10th in the NHL in goals per game (3.32).

Binnington will start Thursday vs. the Sharks.

Binnington allowed six goals on 27 shots (.778 SV%) as he extended his losing streak to five games after a loss to Arizona last start. The 29-year-old has had a season to forget in 2022-23, with his 21-23-5 record, 3.34 GAA and .893 SV%. He will face the struggling San Jose Sharks, who have lost six of their last seven games after a 6-0 loss to Colorado last game.

He will take on the NHL-leading Boston Bruins, who are in the midst of an impressive 10-game winning streak and are second in the NHL in goals per game (3.79).

Sorokin will start Thursday in Pittsburgh.

Sorokin stopped 22 of 24 shots (.917 SV%) for his second-straight win as he beat the Buffalo Sabres in his previous start. The 27-year-old has been incredible despite what his record may show, as he is 22-18-6, with a 2.33 GAA and .926 SV%. He will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins, who have won five of their last six after a 5-4 comeback victory in overtime over Columbus last game.

The Coyotes have acquired Steve Kampfer from the Red Wings for future considerations.

Kampfer had four goals, 22 points, 26 PIMs and a -16 plus/minus through 44 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) and has been traded to the Arizona Coyotes for future considerations. The 34-year-old veteran defenseman has played in 231 career NHL games, picking up 15 goals and 39 points.

Granlund missed the Penguins' previous game due to illness but is expected to return to the Penguins' lineup on Thursday as they take on the Islanders. The 31-year-old has nine goals, 27 assists, 83 SOG, and a -16 plus/minus through 60 games between Pittsburgh and Nashville this season.
