Elias Lindholm will return to the Flames' lineup after a one-game absence (upper body).

Lindholm missed the Flames' previous game due to an upper-body injury but will return Wednesday as they take on the Vancouver Canucks. Lindholm had a point-per-game last season but has started slowly in 2022-23, with nine goals, 23 points and 67 SOG through his first 28 games prior to the injury.

Elias Lindholm
Jacob Markstrom will start Wednesday vs. the Canucks.

Markstrom stopped 37 of 38 shots (.974 SV%) but still took the hard-luck loss as he lost to Montreal in overtime in his last start. The 32-year-old has struggled this season, with his 8-7-3 record, 2.81 GAA and .897 SV%. He takes on the Calgary Flames, who have lost three straight games but are fifth in the NHL in shots on goal per game (33.9).

Jacob Markstrom
Jonathan Drouin will be a game-time decision after practising earlier Wednesday (upper body).

Drouin hasn't played since Nov.12th due to an upper-body injury but will likely rejoin the Canadiens' lineup Wednesday after running lines during the morning skate. Prior to his injury, the 27-year-old had four assists, 11 SOG and a -4 plus/minus through 12 games played.

Jonathan Drouin
Tyler Motte will be out a week with an upper-body injury.

Motte left the Senators' last game Monday after just sevens shifts and 6:38 TOI due to an upper-body injury and will be out for at least a week. The 27-year-old had two goals, eight points, and 52 SOG through 28 games prior to the injury and will hope to be back soon with Ottawa also losing Tim Stutzle Wednesday.

Tyler Motte
Tim Stutzle is out for at least a week with a shoulder strain.

It seems good news for Tim Stutzle as it was announced Wednesday that the Senators' star would likely only miss a week due to a should strain that he had picked up in Tuesday's game. The 20-year-old was having a very solid third NHL season prior to the injury, with 10 goals, 27 points, 20 PIMs, 67 SOG and a -9 plus/minus through 28 games this season.

Tim Stützle
Filip Gustavsson will start Wednesday vs. the Detroit Red Wings.

Gustavsson stopped all 35 Vancouver Canuck shots for the first shutout of his three-year career in his last start Saturday. The Wilds' backup netminder has been sensational in his first season in Minnesota, with a 5-4-1 record, his .920 SV% and 2.47 GAA. He takes on the Detroit Red Wings, who have lost three straight and are 23rd in the NHL in goals per game (2.96).

Filip Gustavsson
Elmer Soderblom has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL).

Soderblom heads back to the Red Wings for a second time this season after scoring two goals and getting six PIMs with a -5 plus/minus through 13 games to start his career. The towering, 6'8" forward had no points in his two games with Grand Rapids (AHL) prior to his callup.

Elmer Soderblom
Cam Talbot is the likely starter vs. Montreal.

Talbot stopped all 32 shots he faced to pick up his first shutout as a member of the Senators with a win over Anaheim in his last start. The 35-year-old has been enjoying a solid opening season in Ottawa, with his 6-7-0 record, .917 SV% and 2.55 GAA. He will take on the Montreal Canadiens, who rank 25th in goals per game (2.86) and 30th in shots (29.3).

Cam Talbot
Dylan Larkin is day-to-day and will miss Wednesday's game (upper body).

Larkin awkwardly took a puck to the arm/hand during Tuesday's matchup vs. Carolina and will be forced to miss Wednesday's game as he is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. The Red Wings' captain has been enjoying a solid contract season, with 10 goals, 27 points, 94 SOG and a +6 plus/minus through 28 games prior to the injury.

Dylan Larkin
Lindgren led the Capitals onto the ice for warmups.

Lindgren stopped 29 of 31 shots (.935 SV%) as he picked up his fourth win in four starts with a victory over Winnipeg in his last start. Fresh off winning the NHL's first star of the week, Lindgren has been sensational as he fills in for the injured Darcy Kuemper, posting a 6-3-2 record with a .910 SV% and 2.79 GAA. He takes on the Chicago Blackhawks, who have lost three straight and are second last in the NHL in both goals per game (2.38) and shots per game (25.6).

Charlie Lindgren
Hill led the Golden Knights onto the ice for warmups.

Hill stopped 27 of 28 shots (.964 SV%) for his second win in a row as Vegas beat Philadelphia in his previous start. The Golden Knights' backup has been great in his first season in Vegas, with a 7-2-1 record, a 2.38 GAA and .914 SV%. He takes on the Winnipeg Jets, who snapped a four-game winning streak with a 5-2 loss to Washington in their last game.
