Kuemper allowed four goals on 29 shots (.862 SV%) as he lost to his old team the Colorado Avalanche in his last start. It has not been an easy first season in Washington for Kuemper who posted a 5-9-1 record with a 2.83 GAA and .907 SV%. He faces off against the Philadelphia Flyers who ranks 30th in the NHL in goals (2.53) and 29th in shots on goal (29.0).
Sandstrom allowed five goals on 31 shots (.839 SV%) in a loss to Dallas during his previous time out. The Flyers' backup netminder has struggled this season with a 1-4-0 record with .896 SV% and 3.46 GAA. He takes on the Washington Capitals who is currently in the middle of a four-game losing skid.
