Schmaltz will miss 6-to-8 weeks with an upper-body injury.

Schmaltz suffered an upper-body injury in the first period of the Coyotes' season opener in Pittsburgh. Schmaltz will miss at least six weeks, sidelining him until late December or early January. Lawson Crouse was elevated to the Coyotes' top line in Schmaltz's absence.

Georgiev is expected to start Monday in Minnesota.

Georgiev will likely start Monday as the Avalanche head to Minnesota for a battle of Central division rivals. Georgiev had a shakey first start in Colorado's opening night 5-2 win over Chicago, allowing two goals on 17 shots while ultimately securing the victory. He will be looking to add another victory to the win column as he battles Pavel Francouz for starts all season in the Avalanche crease.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a terrific start to 2022-23, averaging a GAA of 1.00 in each of his two wins while stopping 60 of 62 total shots faced. He will be hoping for similar results as his previous starts with this being his first start of the season not against Nashville.

DeSmith will likely get his first start of the season as the undefeated Penguins head to Montreal to take on the Canadiens on the road. The 31-year-old netminder enters his fifth season with Pittsburgh, backing up Jarry to a 2.79 GAA and .914 SV% in 2021-22. He will hope the Penguin's offence can continue to roll as it has posted six goals in both of their two wins to start the season.

Ullmark draws the daunting task of taking on the Florida Panthers in a battle of 2-0-0 Atlantic Division squads at home Monday. The eight-year veteran was lights out in his opening night victory over Washington, stopping 33 of 35 shots on way to a 5-2 Bruins win. He draws his second start of the season after splitting the opening two games with Jeremy Swayman.

Bobrovsky will get his second start of the season in a battle of undefeated teams as Florida heads to Boston Monday for an Atlantic showdown. The 34-year-old enjoyed a fantastic opening night victory over the New York Islanders, stopping 32 of 33 shots on way to a 3-1 final scoreline. Bobrovsky has impressively won 40 of his last 54 starts as a member of the Florida Panthers.

The Canucks will need a lot more from their 2021 All-Star netminder if they hope to win their first game of the young season.

Quick will likely get the start Monday as the King's head to Detroit to take on the Red Wings. The 36-year-old veteran will be looking to enter the win column for the first time in 2022-23 and lower his high 3.58 GAA closer to the 2.42 GAA he has averaged throughout his 16-year career.

Gustavsson draws the tough matchup of the defending Stanley Cup Champions at home Monday. Minnesota turns to their backup netminder as they continue to look for their first win of the 2022-23 season. Gustavsson will draw his first start of the season after allowing three goals on 20 shots in a relief appearance Saturday in the Wild's 7-6 loss to LA.

Kuemper gets the nod Monday at home against the winless Vancouver Canucks. After struggling in an opening night loss, the 11-year veteran stood on his head Saturday vs Montreal, stopping 21 of 22 shots (.955 SV%) on way to his first win as a member of the Capitals. He will look to continue his early run of success as he improves on his .902 SV% in his third start of the season.

Kallgren will start Monday vs. the Coyotes.

Kallgren will get his first start of the 2022-23 season Monday against Arizona after being called up Saturday due an injury to Matt Murray. The 26-year-old struggled in limited action last season, winning 8 games with a .888 SV% and 3.31 GAA through 14 GP in his rookie campaign.

Fleury will likely draw the start Monday as Minnesota hosts the defending Stanley Cup Champions at home. It has been a nightmarish start to 2022-23 for Fleury.
