Laine out for 3-4 weeks with Elbow Injury

Laine scored just minutes into Columbus' season opener Wednesday but could only complete 7:49 TOI. Before leaving, the star winger collected two shots, a hit and a blocked shot, while adding the earlier-mentioned goal. His month-long absence will come as a massive blow to Columbus who just added Johnny Gaudreau during the offseason.

Patrik Laine
Jones will start Thursday in Los Angeles.

Jones will start the second of Seattle's back-to-back games after the Kraken lost 5-4 in overtime Wednesday night to Anaheim. Seattle will be the veteran's fourth team in 10 seasons amassing a career SV% of .907 across 387 starts. He struggled in 35 GP in 2021-22 with Philadelphia posting a 3.42 GAA and .900 SV%.

Martin Jones
Thompson was the first goalie off of the ice at the Golden Knights morning skate.

Thompson will draw his second start in as many games after beating the LA Kings in the Golden Knights season opener 4-3. Thompson will look to build off his solid performance as he stopped 27 of 30 shots (.900%) on way to the 11th win of his career.

Logan Thompson
Quick will start Thursday vs. the Kraken.

Quick will look to start his second straight game of 2022-23 after losing a hard-fought 47-save battle to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday. The 36-year-old veteran will look to build off his impressive .922 SV% with what should be a much easier matchup as Seattle is playing their second game of a back-to-back. Quick is just 32 wins away from the all-time leader for wins among American NHL goalies.

Jonathan Quick
Fleury will start the Wild's season opener vs. the Rangers.

Fleury will draw the 1-0-0 New York Rangers at home Thursday as the Wild kick off their season. The 37-year-old is entering his 19th NHL season ranking third all-time in goaltender wins (520). After being acquired by the Wild at the trade deadline in 2021-22, Fleury won nine of 11 starts while posting a .910 SV%.

Marc-Andre Fleury
Quick will likely start Thursday vs. the Kraken.

Quick will look to start his second straight game of 2022-23 after losing a hard-fought 47 save battle to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday. The 36-year-old veteran will look to build off his impressive .922 SV% with what should be a much easier matchup as Seattle is playing their second game of a back-to-back. Quick is just 32 wins away from the all-time leader for wins among American NHL goalies.

Jonathan Quick
Saros is expected to start Thursday vs. the Stars.

Saros is expected to take the crease after easily winning Nashville's opening game vs San Jose 4-1 last week in Prague. The Finish star stopped 30 of 31 shots (.968 SV%) as the Predators handled the Sharks easily. Nashville enters the game on a two-game winning streak and will hope to continue their early season success as they return to hockey on North American soil.

Juuse Saros
Markstrom will start the Flames' season opener vs. the Avalanche.

Markstrom missed Wednesday's practice due to illness but will still take the crease as the Flames take on the Avalanche who are playing their second game in as many nights. Markstrom is coming off an incredible 2021-22 season finishing second in Vezina voting after finishing fourth in wins (37), third in save percentage (.922), and third in GAA (2.22) across the entire NHL. He takes on the hefty task of containing last year's Stanley Cup Champions a night after they put five goals on the board against Chicago.

Jacob Markstrom
Oettinger was the first goalie off of the ice at the Stars' morning skate.

Oettinger as expected should lead the Stars as they take on the undefeated Nashville Predators on the road after being the first goalie off the ice at Dallas' morning skate. Oettinger earned a new three-year, $12 million contract in the offseason after leading the Stars back to the playoffs after the 23-year-old posted 30 wins, and .914 SV% on the season. The three-year veteran will look to keep his career GAA around the impressive 2.59 GAA mark he has achieved in his first 77 games with Dallas.

Jake Oettinger
Shesterkin will start Thursday in Minnesota.

Shesterkin takes the crease for the Rangers' second game of the 2022-23 season. It was much the same for last year's Vezina winner in Tuesday's opening game as New York beat Tampa Bay 3-1 on the back of the Russians' 25-save effort (.962). He will look to prove impressive in another tough matchup as the Rangers head to Minnesota Thursday.

Igor Shesterkin
Vejmelka will start the Coyotes' season opener in Pittsburgh.

Vejmelka draws a tough opening night matchup as the Coyotes head to Pittsburgh to take on Sidney Crosby and the Penguins. The 26-year-old Czech netminder struggled mightily in his rookie season in 2021-22 posting a .898 SV% alongside finishing third last among starters with a 3.68 GAA. Vejmelka will hope 2022-23 brings his win rate up after securing victory in only 25% of the games he played.
