The Maple Leafs recalled Nick Robertson from Toronto (AHL).

Robertson had a terrific preseason but was sent down because he was waiver exempt and the Maple Leafs were in a cap crunch. With Matt Murray landing on LTIR, the Maple Leafs gained some cap flexibility and wasted no time bringing Robertson back. With William Nylander (illness) not on the ice for Sunday's practice, Robertson skated on a line with John Tavares and Denis Malgin.

The Canucks have assigned Sheldon Dries to Abbotsford (AHL).

Dries did not appear in either of the Canucks first two games of the season and was sent to the AHL to make room for Noah Juulsen after Tucker Poolman was injured on Saturday. Dries had 35 goals and 27 assists (62 points) in 54 games with Abbotsford (AHL) last year.

Sheldon Dries
Poolman (undisclosed) left Saturday's game vs. the Flyers and did not return.

Poolman played just 6:51 TOI before exiting Saturday's game. The Canucks have yet to provide an update on his status however, they recalled Noah Juulsen from Abbotsford (AHL) on Sunday, suggesting that Poolman is going to miss some time.

Tucker Poolman
Hill will start in Seattle on Saturday.

Adin Hill will get his first start as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights Saturday. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a decent career so far across five NHL seasons, winning 29 games while posting a career .908 SV% across 63 starts with San Jose and Arizona. He will look to start his Vegas career off on the right foot as they take on Seattle Saturday.

Adin Hill
Petersen will start in Minnesota on Saturday.

Cal Petersen will get his first start of the season for the 0-2-0 Los Angeles Kings Saturday as they take on Minnesota on the road in a battle for first wins for both teams. Petersen enters his fifth season with Los Angeles, posting a 39-39-8 record alongside his 2.83 GAA and 9.08 SV%.

Saros will start in Dallas on Saturday.

Juuse Saros will take the crease Saturday as Nashville takes on Dallas in a tough road matchup. Saros will be looking for quick redemption after the Stars put up four goals on 29 shots in a 4-1 beat down Thursday of the Predators. Regardless of his game two loss, he is still enjoying a strong .917 SV% to go along with his 1-1-0 record to start the season.

Juuse Saros
Sorokin will start against the Ducks on Saturday.

Sorokin will take the crease for his second straight start of the young season. The 27-year-old Russian netminder stood on his head in game one, and stopped 26 of 28 shots (.929 SV%) while getting little help offensively in a 3-1 loss. He will be hoping for some more scoring help as he and the Islanders look to enter the win column for the first time this season.

Ilya Sorokin
Gibson will start on Long Island on Saturday.

Gibson enters Saturday's matchup against the New York Islanders 1-0-0 after an incredible opening night performance by the 10-year-veteran. The Ducks workhorse stood true to his title stopping 44 of 48 shots in Anaheim's 5-4 opening night overtime win against Seattle Wednesday. He will hope to face less action in his second start after finishing 2021-22 with the seventh most Shots Against (1789) throughout the NHL.

John Gibson
Samsonov will start against the Senators on Saturday.

Samsonov gets the start after Matt Murray left Saturdays practice early leaving the Maple Leaf's with only one goalie between on their active roster. The 25-year-old enjoyed a successful debut for Toronto Thursday, comfortably stopping 24 of 26 shots on way to a 3-2 victory over Washington. He will likely be the Leaf's workhorse if Murray’s injury turns out to be worse than originally expected.

He will have the tough task of taking on the high flying Maple Leaf's Saturday in Toronto.

Brian Elliott is getting his first start of the 2022-23 season. In his first season with Tampa in 2021-22, the 37-year-old veteran won 11 of 17 starts while pitching a .912 SV% as well as a 2.43 GAA backing up Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Brian Elliott
The Maple Leafs have placed Murray (adductor injury) on Long Term Injured Reserve. He is expected to miss a minimum of four weeks.

Moving Murray to LTIR provides the Maple Leafs with some salary cap flexibility and will allow them to make some call-ups next week. With Murray out for at least one month, Ilya Samsonov figures to be very busy moving forward.

Matt Murray
Merzlikins will start in St. Louis on Saturday.

Merzlikins will get his first start of 2022-23 after missing Columbus’ opening two matchups due to illness.
