Viel has been a healthy scratch for three of the last four games but will replace Radim Simek in the lineup as the Sharks go back to 12 forwards and six defensemen. Viel has five points (3G / 2A) in 30 games this season.
Gustafsson played in three straight games but will be replaced by Caleb Jones in the lineup on Tuesday.
Jones did not play Sunday vs. the Stars but will replace Erik Gustafsson in the lineup on Tuesday. Jones has tallied four goals with nine assists (13 points) in 46 games this season.
de Haan is dealing with a minor lower-body injury and will not be available for Tuesday's game. Alec Regula was recalled from Rockford (AHL) and will replace him in the lineup.
Regula was recalled from the AHL and will play in his first NHL game since March 10th. Regula will draw into the lineup to replace Calvin de Haan, who has a lower-body injury. Regula has no points in six NHL games so far this season.
Krug has missed the last 10 games with an upper-body injury but there's a "good chance" he plays Tuesday. It would be a big game for Krug, who would be returning to Boston for the first time since signing with St. Louis prior to the 2021 season.
McGinn has been out since March 11th but is set to return to the lineup on Tuesday. McGinn will replace Evgeni Malkin, who has been suspended for four games. He has scored 11 goals with seven assists (18 points) in his first 56 games of the season.
Barron suffered an ankle injury vs. the Senators last Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season. His injury does not require surgery but it will cost him the final few weeks of the year. Barron had one goal and one assist in five games since joining the Canadiens at the trade deadline.
Allen suffered a groin injury while trying to make a save in Saturday's loss in Toronto. Sam Montembeault will serve as the Canadiens' No.1 until Carey Price is ready to make his season debut.
Smith suffered an injury vs. the Islanders last Friday and missed Sunday's game vs. the Ducks but will be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Smith will replace either Ian Cole or Ethan Bear on the third pair.
Grzelcyk suffered an upper-body injury early in Sunday's game in Washington and will not play vs. the Blues. Head coach Bruce Cassidy said that he "feels a little better" but will miss at least one game.
Backstrom sat out the second half of a back-to-back on the weekend but will be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Backstrom will replace Connor McMichael in the lineup and will be back on the second line and top power-play unit.
