Pilut has one assist, 12 SOG and is a -4 plus/minus through 14 games but will head to the press box as a healthy scratch Tuesday as the Sabres take on the Kings. He is being replaced by Kale Clague.

Grubauer allowed only two goals on 36 shots (.944 SV%) but still took his second straight loss in a defeat to Washington in his last start. The 31-year-old has struggled yet again this season after a horrific 2021-22, with a 2-3-1 record, 3.21 GAA and .882 SV% through his eight starts. He will face the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are on a bit of a roll after winning four of their last five games.

Merzlikins allowed five goals on 38 shots (.868 SV%) but still picked up the victory as he defeated Los Angeles in his last start. It has been a tough go so far for the 28-year-old, with a 4-7-0 record, .862 SV% and 4.83 GAA. He faces the Florida Panthers, who have lost three of their last four games but are first in the NHL in shots per game (37.8).

John Gibson allowed four goals on 19 shots (.789 SV%) and took his fourth loss in five starts as he was downed by San Jose in his last start. The 29-year-old is having an incredibly down year, as he has a 5-13-3 record, .894 SV% and 3.99 GAA. He takes on one of the league's hottest teams the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have gotten at least a point in 15 straight contests (12-0-3).

Clague has seen limited action this season with the Sabres, picking up an assist, 13 SOG and -2 plus/minus while averaging 15:20 ATOI and will draw back into Buffalo's lineup Tuesday in replacement of Lawrence Pilut.

Namestnikov had a goal, five assists, 40 SOG and 11 PIMs through 27 games so far with Tampa Bay but will miss his first game Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury as he is day-to-day. The 30-year-old sits on 108 career goals, and 242 points through 580 NHL games played.

Hellebuyck allowed four goals on 35 shots (.886 SV%) as he snapped a personal six-game winning streak with a loss to Washington. He currently ranks second in the NHL in wins with his 14-6-1 record, fourth in GAA (2.33) and third in SV% (.930). He faces the Vegas Golden Knights, who are 1st in the Pacific Division even though they lost their last outing to Boston.

Varlamov allowed four goals on 29 shots (.862 SV%) yet picked up his third straight victory as he beat New Jersey in his last start. The Islanders' backup has been more than serviceable this season, as shown by his 7-3-0 record, 2.67 GAA and .916 SV%. He draws the daunting task of the Boston Bruins, who are first in the NHL in goals per game (3.89) and second in shots (35.1).

Roos will head down to Rockford of the AHL for the first time in his career after collecting a goal, two assists and a -7 plus/minus in 15 games with the Blackhawks. The rookie will hope to be back in sooner, rather than later so he can build on his opening season numbers.

Samsonov stopped all 29 of 29 shots for his fourth straight victory in a shutout win over Los Angeles in his previous start. The 25-year-old has been exceptional in his first year in Toronto, with his 8-2-0 record, 1.87 GAA and .933 SV%. He will face off against the struggling Anaheim Ducks, who have lost eight of their last nine games after a 3-0 loss to Ottawa Monday night.

Petan had two assists, 12 SOG and was a +3 in his eight games with the Wild prior to being assigned to Iowa (AHL) while only averaging 11:16 TOI. He will head back to Iowa where he was dominant to start the year, with two goals, six assists and four PIMs through only five games played.

Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 31 shots (.871 SV%) as he picked up his second straight loss in a defeat to Seattle his last time out. The 34-year-old has been having a horrific season, posting a .884 SV%, 3.58 GAA and a 5-8-1 record. He takes on the Columbus Blue Jackets, who have won their last two games but are 27th in the NHL in shots per game (29.6)

Anderson stopped 29 of 33 shots (.879 SV%) and took the overtime loss as he faced Pittsburgh in his previous start. The league's oldest player has been incredibly solid in limited starts this season, with a 5-4-1 record, .912 SV% and 2.97 GAA. He takes on the Los Angeles Kings, who are 10th in the NHL in goals per game (3.39).

Stenlund did not get a chance to dress for the Winnipeg Jets during his last call-up but will head back to Winnipeg from Manitoba (AHL) where he had four goals, 14 points, 26 PIMs and a -2 plus/minus in 19 games prior to his promotion.

Blackwood last played on Nov. 3rd and left early due to a knee injury. Monday he was reassigned to Utica (AHL) on a conditioning basis. When he does return he will be hoping for better luck than his first seven games with the Devils, where he was 4-2-0 with a .880 SV% and 2.79 GAA.

Aho remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not be available for a second straight game. His next chance to return is Thursday vs. the Kraken on home-ice. Look for Paul Stastny to remain in the top-6 while Aho is out.
