Hellebuyck is in the starter's crease at the Jets morning skate.
Hellebuyck was perfect in his previous start, stopping 28 of 28 shots as he blanked Nashville for his fourth shutout of the season last game. The 29-year-old has been fantastic yet again on pace for his sixth straight season finishing above a .910 SV%, with his 35-25-2 record, 2.53 GAA and .919 SV%. He takes on the lowly San Jose Sharks, who have lost three straight and are 25th in the NHL in goals per game (2.89).
The Capitals have recalled Joe Snively from Hershey (AHL).
Snively has nine goals, 16 assists, six PIMs and a +10 plus/minus through 31 games with the Hershey Bears (AHL) this season and has been recalled by Washington Monday. The 27-year-old returns to the Capitals, where he has a goal and three points already this season through nine games played.

Lyon stopped 22 of 24 shots (.917 SV%) for his sixth-straight win as he topped the Washington Capitals in his previous start. The 30-year-old has been the Panthers' saviour as they continue their late playoff push, with his 9-3-1 record, .916 SV% and 2.88 GAA. He will draw the tough task of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have won three of their last five games and have the second-best powerplay in the NHL (26.1).

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
