The Oilers have lost four of their first six games (2-3-1) despite receiving adequate goaltending. Skinner has a 1-2-1 record through four outings but has been reliable between the pipes, posting a 2.23 GAA and .910 SV%. The Oilers are only averaging 2.5 goals per game, bottom-five in the NHL, and hope to inflate those totals on Tuesday, facing off against an Ottawa Senators team allowing a league-worst 5.0 goals per game through six contests (2-4-0). The Oilers enter the matchup as -123 road favorites.

The Oilers will turn to Skinner between the pipes for the third time this season when they travel to Long Island on Thursday. Skinner was spectacular in his last outing, stopping all 30 shots he faced in a 2-0 shutout win over the Rangers on Tuesday. He's a good bet to stay in the win column on Thursday, as the Oilers enter action at -165 on the money line.

The Oilers have split starts in their 2025-26 season (1-0-1) and will return to their season-opening starter, Stuart Skinner, on Tuesday against the New York Rangers. The 26-year-old Skinner was serviceable in his only start of the season, saving 19 of 22 shots (.864 SV%), but mishandled a puck in the third period, resulting in a goal en route to an eventual 4-3 shootout loss to the Calgary Flames. The Oilers enter Tuesday's contest as -134 road favorites against a Rangers team that has failed to score in two of their four games this season (2-2-0).

Coming off a forgetful 2024-25 season where he posted a 2.81 GAA and .896 SV% in 51 outings (26-18-4), Skinner will hope to return to the form that made him a top-15 netminder in his previous two seasons. The Oilers are expected to have one of the NHL's best offenses again in 2025-26, which should allow Skinner to accumulate plenty of victories. The 26-year-old netminder will be between the pipes in Edmonton's season opener on Wednesday, entering the contest as sizable -214 home favorites against the Calgary Flames.

Skinner was pulled after along three goals on 17 shots in the Oilers' come-from-behind 5-4 OT win in Game 4. Calvin Pickard started the Game 5 loss, so the Oilers will come back to Skinner in a must-win Game 6 on Tuesday. Skinner has had a tough time in the Stanley Cup Final, posting a 4.20 GAA and .860 SV% in four games.

Skinner was pulled after surrendering five goals on 23 shots in the Oilers' 6-1 loss in Game 3. Skinner has now given up at least three goals in all three games of the series, posting a 3.74 GAA and .866 SV%. Despite a tough Game 3, the Oilers will come back to Skinner in Game 4. He's dominated Game 4s in his career, going 6-0 with a 1.26 GAA, .955 SV% and two shutouts.

Skinner battled for 85 minutes in Game 2 but ultimately ended up with the loss, stopping 37 of the 42 shots he faced in the 5-4 defeat. The double-overtime loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Skinner and the Oilers, and more importantly evened up the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals at a game a piece. Edmonton enters action on Monday at +115 on the money line as the series shifts to Sunrise for Game 3.

Skinner will look to extend his playoff winning streak to six after beating Florida in overtime in Game 1 off a 29-save (.906 SV%) performance. The 26-year-old has been sensational since his opening round struggles, with a 7-1-0 record and a .938 SV% in his previous eight games played. He will look to take a 2-0 series lead as Edmonton hosts Florida on Friday, who have only trailed in one other series this postseason (Toronto).

The Oilers have a commanding 3-1 series lead and will hope to advance to the Stanley Cup Final with a victory on Thursday in Game 5. Skinner has been outstanding in the third round of the playoffs, saving 86 of 88 shots (.977 SV%) in his last three games (3-0). The Oilers enter Thursday's contest as +116 road underdogs against a desperate Dallas Stars team.

Skinner was excellent in Game 3, stopping 33 of 34 shots in the Oilers' 6-1 win. Since taking over for Calvin Pickard in Round 2, Skinner has gone 4-2 with a 1.64 GAA, .936 SV% and three shutouts, including a 2.01 GAA and .930 SV% in this series.

Skinner continued his up-and-down playoffs in Game 2 as he picked up his third shutout in his previous four starts with a 25-save winning effort on Friday. The 26-year-old has struggled most nights despite being tied for the lead in playoff shutouts (3), with his .890 SV% and 2.90 GAA through seven appearances. He will look to take a 2-1 series lead as Edmonton hosts the Dallas Stars for a matinee on Sunday, who put five by him on 27 SOG in the series opener.

Despite a disappointing performance in Game 1, the Oilers will stick with Skinner between the pipes for Game 2 on Friday. After posting back-to-back shutouts to close out the second round, Skinner struggled in the opening game of round three, allowing five goals on 27 shots in the eventual 6-3 defeat. Skinner and the Oilers enter action on Friday at an even +100 on the money line.

Skinner stopped all 24 shots that he faced in the Oilers' shutout overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 5. That is now back-to-back shutouts for Skinner, who owns a 1.28 GAA, .944 SV% and 2-1 record since returning to the Oilers' crease in Game 3 vs. Vegas. Against the Stars in the 2024 playoffs, Skinner was 4-2 with a 1.91 GAA and .922 SV%.
