Neighbours has struggled so far with the Blues in 2022-23 prior to his demotion to Springfield (AHL), posting one goal and a -9 plus/minus rating through 11 games while averaging 12:20 ATOI.

He draws the tough task of taking on the New Jersey Devils who rank fourth in the NHL in goals per game (3.62) and 2nd in SOG per game (37.6).

DeSmith picked up his fourth straight loss his last time out, allowing four goals on 31 shots (.871 SV%) in a loss to Buffalo. Luff has one goal through seven games after receiving a promotion to the Red Wings after a few games with Grand Rapids this season. He is out for 10-12 weeks following wrist surgery Wednesday.

Matt Luff has been announced out 6-8 weeks after taking a dirty hit from rookie Juraj Slafkovsky Tuesday. In 10 games prior to the hearing, the 2022 1st overall pick has three goals and 10 SOG while also picking up 19 PIMs.

With the Avalanche losing a few players due to injury earlier this week, Sampo Ranta has been recalled from the Colorado Eagles (AHL). In 10 AHL games played this year with the Eagles he has one goal and one assist and is a -5 plus/minus prior to his promotion.

Demko took the shootout loss his last time out, allowing three goals on 30 shots (.900 SV%) in a 4-3 dropped game to Nashville. He has struggled mightily this season, amassing an ugly 1-6-2 rating with a 3.90 GAA and .879 SV%. He faces off against Montreal who snapped a three-game losing streak Tuesday with a shootout win over Detroit, 3-2 the night before.

Alexeyev had just finished a long-term conditioning loan with Hersey where he posted one assist and a +1 plus/minus across four games in the AHL. The Capitals' 2018 1st round pick (31st overall) has one career NHL game were picked up two PIMs.

Kuemper stopped 23 of 26 shots (.885 SV%) to pick up his second straight loss his last time out vs. Arizona. The 32-year-old has been solid since signing a big contract in the offseason, recording a .919 SV% and 2.42 GAA to go along with a 4-5-1 record. Knight was great in his last start, stopping 32 of 35 shots (.914 SV%) in a victory over Anaheim. He has been okay this season, posting a nice 4-1-0 record but a .903 SV% and 2.63 GAA through five starts. Carolina is coming off a 3-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs and is a team that loves to get pucks on net, averaging 37.0 SOG/GP to rank third in the NHL.
