The Rangers put Nemeth on IR Wednesday, after he was sidelined for the five games leading up to their two-week recess and again in their first contest back against the Bruins on Tuesday. Team policy prevents the Rangers from disclosing the reason, but it is believed that Nemeth is dealing with lingering effects from his bout with COVID-19 in late December.

Borgstrom has played in nine straight games but has gone pointless in his last eight, so he'll come out of the lineup on Thursday. Philipp Kurashev will replace him in the Blackhawks' bottom-6.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
