van Riemsdyk and his wife are expecting their first child meaning the 31-year-old will be doubtful to play Tuesday as the team takes on Columbus. If forced to miss the game, it will be his first missed of the 2022-23 season, which has been a breakout of sorts for the defenseman, who has a career-high seven goals, 23 points, and a +11 plus/minus through 71 games so far this season.

Kuemper missed the Capitals' previous game due to an upper-body injury and will remain out Tuesday after practising with the team. The 32-year-old has been one of few bright spots in Washington this season, with his 20-22-5 record, 2.77 GAA and .911 SV%.



Kuznetsov left the Capitals' game Sunday after just 13:41 TOI after taking a hard hit from Minnesota's Matt Dumba and is now considered day-to-day as he deals with an upper-body injury and is considered a game-time decision Tuesday. The 30-year-old has 12 goals, 39 assists, 158 SOG, 52 PIMs and a -17 plus/minus through 70 games this season prior to the injury.

Ulmark stopped 29 of 31 shots (.935 SV%) for his ninth win in 10 starts as he easily handled Minnesota his last time out. The 29-year-old is leading Vezina Trophy voting due to him amazingly leading the NHL in wins (34), GAA (1.97), and SV% (.935 SV%). He takes on the Ottawa Senators, who just snapped a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Pittsburgh last night.

Sogaard allowed four goals on 29 shots (.862 SV%) for his fourth-straight loss as he was defeated by Toronto in his last start. The 22-year-old has been thrown to the wolves in his first season, leading to ugly early results with his 5-4-2 record, 3.49 GAA and .881 SV%. He takes on the Boston Bruins, who are in the midst of a three-game winning streak and are second in the NHL in goals per game (3.78).

Saros allowed three goals on 34 shots (.912 SV%) for his second-straight loss in his last start as he was defeated by Winnipeg. The 27-year-old has had yet another strong season while leading the Predators, as shown by his 26-19-7 record, 2.75 GAA, and .917 SV%. He takes on the plummeting Buffalo Sabres, who have lost three-straight and seven of their last eight games.

Vasilevskiy allowed four goals on 38 shots (.895 SV%) and snapped a two-game winning streak as he lost to New Jersey in his previous start. The 28-year-old has led the NHL in wins in five-straight seasons and is in the hunt for the crown again with his 31-18-4 record, 2.70 GAA and .914 SV%. After facing the New Jersey Devils in three consecutive games, he now faces Montreal, who has lost nine of their last ten games and is 27th in the NHL in goals per game (2.77).

Ferguson was incredible Monday, stopping 48 of 49 shots (.980 SV%) in his first career NHL game for his first career NHL win as he beat Pittsburgh. The 24-year-old has unfortunately come down with an illness and will now miss Tuesday's game vs. Boston.

Gravel has an assist, 14 SOG, two PIMs and a -8 plus/minus through 18 games with Nashville but will return to Milwaukee (AHL) after being reassigned there Tuesday.

McCarron has a goal, two points, 26 SOG, 24 PIMs and a -7 plus/minus through 22 games played with Nashville but has been reassigned to Milwaukee (AHL) Tuesday.

Bennett left Monday's game in Detroit and did not return. It was announced Tuesday that he would miss the Panthers' game and is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury in the meantime. Givani Smith will take his spot in the Panthers' lineup as he returns from a head injury.

Lyon last started on January 28th and stopped 38 of 40 shots (.950 SV%) to snap a three-game losing streak as he beat Boston. The 30-year-old travelling netminder has been serviceable when called upon, with his 3-2-1 record, 3.89 GAA and .892 SV%. He takes on the struggling Philadelphia Flyers, who have lost nine of their last 11 games.
