Maccelli was expected to make his NHL debut on Tuesday but will not after testing positive for COVID-19.

Boyd will come out of the Coyotes lineup in San Jose and how this changes their lines is anybody's guess. Expect Johan Larsson to move up into the top-6 with Boyd out.

Hertl was added to COVID-19 protocol just prior to the Christmas break and has been cleared to play on Tuesday. It's unclear who he will replace in the lineup but he'll be back in the top-6 and top power-play unit.


According to the Ducks, Zegras is asymptomatic but he will likely miss all three games this week and may not be back until the middle of next week.

Lehner continues to battle a lower-body injury and will not dress on Tuesday. Laurent Brossoit was the first goalie off of the ice and is expected to start for Vegas.

Stone was originally listed as a game-time decision on Monday but was ruled out ahead of Tuesday's game in Los Angeles. Mattias Janmark will likely move up into the top-6 with Stone out.


Maccelli was a fourth-round pick in 2019 and has played very well in his first season in North America. Maccelli leads Tucson (AHL) with 21 points (7G / 14A) in 21 games this season.


Given the lengthy list of absences, Helm was likely tot play in the top-9 in Colorado's next game (Sunday) but now he will likely be sidelined until the middle of next week.

Juolevi was set to serve as one of the Panthers' six defensemen in their next game but that obviously won't happen now--luckily, Mackenzie Weegar was activated today and will reclaim that spot.

Crouse missed one game while in COVID-19 protocol thanks to the early shutdown and Christmas break. Crouse, who has 11 points (6G / 5A) in 28 games this season, should be back in the Coyotes' top-6.
