Barron (ankle) will miss the rest of the season.
Barron suffered an ankle injury vs. the Senators last Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season. His injury does not require surgery but it will cost him the final few weeks of the year. Barron had one goal and one assist in five games since joining the Canadiens at the trade deadline.
Allen will miss the rest of the season with a groin injury.
Allen suffered a groin injury while trying to make a save in Saturday's loss in Toronto. Sam Montembeault will serve as the Canadiens' No.1 until Carey Price is ready to make his season debut.
Smith (undisclosed) will draw back into the Hurricanes lineup on Tuesday.
Smith suffered an injury vs. the Islanders last Friday and missed Sunday's game vs. the Ducks but will be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Smith will replace either Ian Cole or Ethan Bear on the third pair.
Grzelcyk (upper-body) will not play on Tuesday.
Grzelcyk suffered an upper-body injury early in Sunday's game in Washington and will not play vs. the Blues. Head coach Bruce Cassidy said that he "feels a little better" but will miss at least one game.

Backstrom sat out the second half of a back-to-back on the weekend but will be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Backstrom will replace Connor McMichael in the lineup and will be back on the second line and top power-play unit.
Orlov (lower-body) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.
Orlov was not on the ice for the Capitals' morning skate but the team is still hopeful that he'll play vs. the Flyers. Orlov will be replaced by Matt Irwin if he can't go but monitor his status as the Capitals hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 PM ET.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
