Fortier will replace Mathieu Joseph on the Lightning's second line with Anthony Cirelli and Alex Killorn. Fortier has four goals and seven assists (11 points) in 17 AHL games this season.
Thompson hurt his shoulder vs. the Hurricanes on Friday and is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on Tuesday. Even with Kevin Hayes back in the mix, Thompson's injury likely means that Morgan Frost will remain with the team.
