The Jets have signed Evgeny Svechnikov to a one-year deal worth $750K.

Svechnikov was in Jets' training camp on a PTO and earned a one-year deal. Svechnikov is a former first-round pick (No.19 overall) of the Detroit Red Wings but injuries stunted his development over the years. In 41 career NHL games with Detroit, the 24-year-old had five goals and seven assists (12 points).

Boeser (undisclosed) travelled to Edmonton and could play in the Canucks' season opener.

Boeser was expected to miss the start of the season, however, head coach Travis Green did not rule him out for Wednesday's season opener. Boeser travelled and will likely test his injury in the morning skate, so monitor his status this afternoon.

Brock Boeser
Shore (undisclosed) is questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Canucks.

Shore tweaked something in practice on Monday and his status for the Oilers' season opener is unclear. In Tuesday's skate, Ryan McLeod centred the fourth line in Shore's place, so look for that configuration if Shore can't play.

Devin Shore
Perfetti will make his NHL debut on Wednesday.

Perfetti was the No.10 overall pick in 2020 and spent the 2021 season in Manitoba (AHL), where he had nine goals and 17 assists (26 points) in 32 games. In his debut, he will skate on the third line with Adam Lowry and Jansen Harkins.

Cole Perfetti
Scheifele (suspension) will not play Wednesday vs. the Ducks.

Scheifele will serve the final game of his suspension that was handed down by the NHL during the postseason for his hit on Jake Evans. With Scheifele out for the season opener, Paul Stastny is expected to centre the Jets' top line and Pierre-Luc Dubois should see time on PP1.

Mark Scheifele
Grubauer led the Kraken onto the ice for warmups.

Grubauer had an outstanding season in 2021, going 30-9-1 with a 1.95 GAA, .922 SV% and seven shutouts, finishing third in Vezina voting. This offseason he signed with the Seattle Kraken, who will be an obvious downgrade from the Avalanche. His rates are sure to take a hit and with a number of player's questionable for Tuesday's opener, he's a risky option vs. a high-powered Vegas team.

Philipp Grubauer
Jarry led the Penguins onto the ice for warmups.

Jarry went 25-9-3 with a 2.75 GAA and .909 SV% in 38 starts in 2021. Jarry finished the season on a 13-1-1 stretch, while posting a .910 SV%. However, he struggled vs. the Islanders in the postseason, so it will be important for the Penguins that the good Jarry shows up to open the season. He draws a terrible matchup in Tampa Bay without Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel in front of him.

Tristan Jarry
Vasilevskiy led the Lightning onto the ice for warmups.

Vasilevskiy led the NHL in wins for the fourth consecutive year in 2021, going 31-10-1 with a 2.21 GAA and .925 SV%. Vasilevsksiy has been in the top-3 in Vezina voting in four straight seasons and starts with a nice matchup tonight--Pittsburgh will be without Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel in their season opener.

Andrei Vasilevskiy
Oleksiak (COVID-19) will not play on Tuesday.

After being added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Monday, there was some hope that Oleksiak would be cleared to play tonight. However, Oleksiak remains in protocol with only Marcus Johansson getting cleared to play. Jeremy Lauzon is expected to take Oleksiak's spot in the lineup.

Jamie Oleksiak
McCann (COVID-19) will not play on Tuesday.

After being added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Monday, there was some hope that McCann would be cleared to play tonight. However, McCann remains in protocol with only Marcus Johansson getting cleared to play. Alex True was recalled from the AHL and is expected to take McCann's spot in the lineup.

Jared McCann
Donskoi (COVID-19) will not play on Tuesday.

After being added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Monday, there was some hope that Donskoi would be cleared to play tonight. However, Donskoi remains in protocol with only Marcus Johansson getting cleared to play. Kole Lind was recalled from the AHL and is expected to take Donskoi's spot in the lineup.

Joonas Donskoi
Johansson (COVID-19) has been cleared to play in Tuesday's season opener.

Johansson was placed in COVID-19 protocol on Monday but has been cleared to play in the first game in franchise history. It is difficult to project who Johansson will skate with, but with Calle Jarnkrok, Joonas Donskoi and Jared McCann all out, you have to assume he will play a prominent role.
