Sorokin came in for an odd one save on one shot relief performance in the Islanders' previous matchup, as he came in for an injured Semyon Varlamov and saw limited action in 6:22 TOI vs. Vegas. The 27-year-old has been a rock for the Islanders this season, with his 10-10-0 record, 2.49 GAA and .921 SV%. He will take on the Colorado Avalanche, who have won three of their last four game after a 3-1 victory over Nashville in their last game.

Clutterbuck missed the Islanders' previous game due to an upper-body injury and is now considered day-to-day with the injury. The 35-year-old had just recently became the all-time hits leader in the NHL and has three goals, five points, 14 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus in 26 games prior to the injury.

Palmieri has played one game since Nov.21st due to an upper-body injury that has reaggrivated itself and is considered day-to-day after playing 10:46 in a game vs. Arizona Friday. The 31-year-old veteran winger has six goals, nine points and 39 SOG through 21 games prior to hitting the shelf again due to injury.

Kupari has two goals, three assists, 13 SOG, and eight PIMs through 18 games with the Kings and will head back to the big club from the Ontario Reign (AHL) Monday. In the minors he had five goals, nine points and 22 PIMs in 11 games prior to his promotion.

Saros allowed only two goals on 29 shots (.931 SV%) but still picked up his fifth straight loss in a defeat to the Colorado Avalanche in his last start. The 27-year-old has had an up-and-down season, with his 9-9-4 record, 2.84 GAA and .911 SV%. He draws a start vs. the Edmonton Oilers, who have lost their last two games but have the league's best power play (31.9).

Carrier has not played since Dec. 10th due to an upper-body injury but will return a bit ahead of plans Monday after originally being considered week-to-week. The 26-year-old has one goal, 26 SOG and eight PIMs through 23 games prior to the injury and will lineup on a pair with Mattias Ekholm.

This will be only Campbell's third start of December after stopping 29 of 32 shots (.906 SV%) in his previous start, in a win over Nashville. Campbell has had a nightmarish opening season in Edmonton, losing the starting role while posting a 8-6-0 record, 4.04 GAA and .875 SV%. He faces the Nashville Predators, who will be looking to snap the six game losing streak that they are currently on.

Georgiev stopped 25 of 26 shots (.962 SV%) and snapped a four game losing streak with a win vs. Nashville in his previous start. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a phenomenal start to his Avalanche career, with his 12-6-2 record, 2.59 GAA and .920 SV%. He will face the New York Islanders, who are coming off a 5-2 victory over Vegas their last time out and rank 14th in the NHL in goals per game (3.25).

Schmid will head back down to Utica (AHL) after doing a more than admirable job backing up the Devils' crease, posting an incredible 5-3-0 record, 1.96 GAA and .932 SV%. He heads back to the minors, where he was also strong prior to his promotion, with a 2-1-2 record, .918 SV% and 1.97 GAA in a short four game showing.

Oettinger was incredible in his previous start, stopping 45 of 46 Washington Capital shots (.978 SV%) on his way to his third victory in the last four games. The recently turned 24-year-old has been fantastic in the Stars' crease this season, with a 12-4-3 record, .920 SV% and 2.42 GAA. He will face the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets Monday, who have lost their last three games, giving up four goals in each losing effort.

Silovs has a 9-5-3 record, .887 SV% and 2.92 GAA with the Abbotsford Canucks (AHL) and has been recalled Monday by the Vancouver Canucks to be Spencer Martin's backup. Silovs has been recalled previously in his career but has yet to make his NHL debut so if he does see any game action, he will knock that milestone off his checklist.

Delia was excellent in his only game of action with the Vancouver Canucks prior to being reassigned to Abbotsford (AHL) Monday. He heads back to the minors where he had a 5-3-0 record, .884 SV% and 3.44 GAA prior to his previous promotion.

White has five goals, seven assists, 35 SOG and a +3 plus/minus through 29 games prior to his injury announcement that caused him to miss some time (undisclosed). Health has never been a strong point for White as he has never surpassed more than 71 games played in a season.

Gudas has not played since Dec. 3rd due to a concussion and has been placed on the injured reserve retroactively to that date to make room for Grigori Denisenko. The 32-year-old bruiser, has two goals, six points, 49 SOG and 39 PIMs in 25 games prior to the injury.

Barkov has six goals, 16 assists, 82 SOG and a +5 plus/minus through 25 games played but will miss Monday's game vs. Boston as he deals with a lower-body injury. Barkov missed 15 games last season due to injury and will be hoping that he is only day-to-day with this recent development.

Knight hasn't played since Dec. 6th due to illness but will draw the start Monday after a 13 day absence. The 21-year-old was playing very well prior to his unfortunate illness, taking majority of the Panthers' starts due to his 8-4-3 record, 2.64 GAA and .919 SV%. He draws a tough comeback start as he takes on the Boston Bruins, who are coming off a 4-2 win over Columbus and hold the leagues best record.

Atkinson had not yet played in 2022-23, and will miss the remainder of the season after it was announced Monday that he would be undergoing neck surgery Wednesday. It is a tough blow for the 33-year-old, who was coming off his best season in three years, with 23 goals, 27 assists, 215 SOG and 10 PIMs in 73 games in his first season in Philadelphia in 2021-22.
