MacKinnon missed four games with a broken nose and a concussion he suffered on January 26th but is set to play on Sunday. MacKinnon, who has nine goals and 34 assists (43 points) in 31 games this season, will be back on the top line with Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog.

Malkin practiced on Friday and Saturday and is expected to play Sunday in New Jersey. He's officially listed as a game-time decision, so monitor his status as the Penguins hit the ice for warmups.

Hamilton was cleared to practice on Saturday but it is just a matter of when Hamilton feels ready to play, according to head coach Lindy Ruff. Consider him a game-time decision on Sunday.


Bratt suffered an upper-body injury in St. Louis and will likely miss Sunday's game vs. the Penguins. Luckily for the Devils, Jack Hughes has cleared COVID-19 protocol and is expected to be available.

Hughes landed on the COVID-19 protocol list after going to the All-Star game in Vegas. He was back on the ice for Saturday's practice and is expected to play Sunday vs. the Penguins. Unfortunately, it looks like he'll be taking Jesper Bratt's spot in the lineup--Bratt is dealing with an upper-body injury.


Kotkaniemi missed three games while in COVID-19 protocol but will play Saturday in Minnesota. Kotkaniemi will replace Steven Lorentz and skate on the fourth line with Derek Stepan and Jordan Martinook.



Borowiecki missed one game with a non-COVID illness but will be back in the lineup on Saturday. In addition to Borowiecki, the Predators will also get Matt Benning back from a lower-body injury.

Benning missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but is set to play Saturday vs. the Jets. In addition to Benning, Mark Borowiecki will also be back on the Predators blueline.


This is the third time this season that Brassard returned from injury and then is out for the next game. It's been a very difficult season for Brassard, who will be replaced by Jackson Cates in Detroit.
