It will be Heinola's first NHL games since April 15th and just his third of the season. The 2019 No.20 overall pick has scored four goals with seven assists (11 points) in 19 AHL games this season.
Bertuzzi underwent back surgery on April 30th and is expected to be ready for the 2021-22 season.
Bertuzzi missed almost all of 2021 with a back injury and the decision was made for him to get back surgery in late April. Luckily for the Red Wings, Bertuzzi is expected to be available for the start of next season.
Schmaltz (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Wednesday.
Schmaltz was a late scratch on Monday after getting hurt in pre-game warmups. If Schmaltz can't play on Wednesday, Lade Pederson will replace him up front and Jordan Oesterle will move back to the blueline.

Renouf will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday.
Renouf has appeared in two straight games, averaging 9:34 TOI/gm but will come out Wednesday in San Jose. Jacob MacDonald will replace Renouf on the third pairing.
MacDonald will be back in the Avalanche lineup on Wednesday.
It will be MacDonald's first game since April 14th, as he replaces Dan Renouf in the lineup in San Jose. MacDonald has tallied one goal with six assists (seven points) in 29 games this season.

The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
