Vrana will be out indefinitely as he enters the NHL/NHLPA Assistance Program. The seven-year veteran was enjoying a strong start to his season, collecting two points (1G/1A) through his first two games to start 2022-23. The Red Wings will hope to have him back in their lineup sooner rather than later as he is an integral part of their top six.

Felix Sandstrom will get his first start of the season Wednesday

Sandstrom draws his first start of the 2022-23 season as the undefeated Philadelphia Flyers head to Florida to take on the Panthers Wednesday night. In five career NHL games, the 25-year-old netminder has played well with a .910 SV% while still yet to achieve his first career victory.

Jordan Binnington gets the call Wednesday as the Blues head to Seattle to take on the Kraken. In the team's only game this season, Binnington thrived, stopping 23 of 25 shots on his way to a 5-2 opening-night victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Sedlak came back to North American after three years in the KHL and was a plus-1 in his first three games with the Avalanche. He was waived on Tuesday and is headed to Philadelphia after being claimed on Wednesday. Sedlak will likely replace Jackson Cates in the Flyers' bottom-6 moving forward.

Hellebuyck draws the difficult start Wednesday as the Jets head to Colorado to take on the Avalanche on the road in a Central Division battle. Hellebuyck had an outstanding 41 save (.976 SV%) winning effort in his first start of the season before struggling in a 4-1 loss to Dallas his previous time out. He will be looking for his second win of the early season Wednesday.

Megna will be replacing Lukas Sedlak; who was placed on waivers Tuesday; as the Avalnches' fourth-line centre. Across eight NHL seasons, Megna has 10 goals and 25 points in 148 career games while playing for four different teams.

Gabriel Landeskog had knee surgery Wednesday and will miss the next 12 weeks

The Avalanche captain will be out until at least late January after it was announced Wednesday he had knee surgery which should hold him out for at least 12 weeks. It is tough news for the Avalanche after the 29-year-old scored 30 goals in 51 games after an injury-shortened season in 2021-22.

Georgiev is starting his second contest in as many games after stopping 36 of 39 shots in a victory over the Wild on Monday. Kral enjoyed a strong preseason before eventually getting sent down to the Toronto Marlies to start the 2022-23 season. With the announcement of Jake Muzzin being placed on the IR, Kral will get his first taste of NHL action in the veteran's absence. The 22-year-old had zero points in his first two games with the Marlies prior to being called up.

Muzzin will head to the injured reserve after injuring his neck in the Maple Leafs' 4-2 loss to Arizona Monday. It is the third time in four seasons since joining Toronto that Muzzin has missed significant time due to injury. He had one assist with eight SOG through four games before the injury announcement.

Brown misses his first game of the 2022-23 season after it was announced he was placed on the IR with a lower-body injury Wednesday. The 28-year-old has struggled in his first four games as a Capital, collecting just two shots to go along with his zero points and -3 rating to start the season.

Brandon Montour is set to miss his second game of the early season Wednesday as it was announced he will miss Florida's matchup against Philadelphia with a lower-body injury. This comes as a blow to the blueline as the Panthers just lost Aaron Ekblad for 4-6 Weeks. Montour has a goal on four shots in his first two games in his second season as a member of the Florida Panthers.
