Saad and his wife are expecting a baby on Wednesday, so he will not suit up vs. the Wild. With Saad out, Logan O'Connor will draw into the lineup and Matt Calvert will move up to play with Nazem Kadri.

Friedman has ties to new Penguins' GM Ron Hextall, who drafted Friedman while he was the GM of the Flyers in 2014. The 25-year-old defenseman has appeared in just 11 NHL games since then, picking up one assist.

Markstrom will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury, which likely means that David Rittich will face the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. Rittich posted a 34-save shutout on Monday, so expect him to get all of the starts until Markstrom can re-join the team.

With Andersen missing a second straight game and Jack Campbell already out, the Maple Leafs will likely go with Michael Hutchinson vs. the Flames. The fact that Andersen is listed as day-to-day and not on IR suggests he could be back in the crease at some point this week.

Hyman missed Monday's game against the Flames but will replace Nic Petan in the lineup on Wednesday. Hyman will likely return to the top line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner and comes in with 10 points (4G / 6A) in 18 games this season.

Giroux has been out since February 7th but it looks like he'll return to the lineup Wednesday vs. the Rangers. Look for Giroux, who has 11 points (1G / 10A) in 13 games, is expected to skate with Kevin Hayes and Nolan Patrick.

Gardiner was a healthy scratch for the last three games but will draw back into the lineup Wednesday in Tampa Bay. Gardiner has seven assists in 15 games this season and will likely replace Haydn Fleury or Jake Bean.

Lauzon was forced to leave the outdoor game in Lake Tahoe after one shift with a fractured left hand. He underwent surgery to repair it on Wednesday and will miss at least one month, so don't expect to see him until late-March.

Colton is a 24-year-old, former fourth-overall pick who has spent the last two years in Syracuse (AHL). He had 42 points (11G / 32A) in 62 games last year and has one goal and two assists in three games to start 2021.
