Talbot was forced to leave Friday's game vs. the Sharks with a lower-body injury and will miss the re-match on Sunday. With Talbot sidelined, Kaapo Kahkonen gets the start today and Andrew Hammond will back him up.

Hirose and Givani Smith were both recalled and are likely to make their season debuts on Sunday with the Red Wings' forward group already being ravaged by COVID-19 and injuries. Hirose had seven points (2G / 5A) in 26 games with the Red Wings last season.

The Red Wings have been hit hard by COVID-19 and now Darren Helm is dealing with an undisclosed injury, so it looks like Smith and Taro Hirose, who was also recalled, could make their season debuts on Sunday. Smith had two goals and one assist in 21 games with the Red Wings a season ago.

Benn was forced to leave Friday's season-opening win over the Predators with a lower-body injury and missed Saturday's practice. Jason Dickinson is expected to replace Benn on the Stars' top line if he can't go in Sunday's rematch.

Kiviranta was on the ice for the start of Saturday's practice but left the session early and landed on IR on Sunday morning. With Kiviranta on IR, the Stars recalled Tanner Keto from the taxi squad but Rhett Gardner replaced him on a line with Joe Pavelski and Alexander Radulov.

Wilson left Friday's game vs. the Sabres with a lower-body injury and did not practice on Saturday. Head coach Peter Laviolette listed him as questionable, so monitor his status when the Capitals hit the ice for warmups at 2:30 PM ET. If he can't play, expect the Capitals to go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen.

Helm returned from a COVID-19 related absence on Friday but is once again questionable for Sunday's rematch in Chicago. The Red Wings have a lot of players missing right now, so they'll likely need to bring someone up from the taxi squad to replace Helm if he's unavailable.

Wallmark picked up one assist in 13:33 TOI in Friday's win over the Red Wings. Despite picking up three assists in his last two games, Wallmark will sit on Sunday and allow Carl Soderberg to make his Blackhawks debut.

Soderberg signed with the Blackhawks prior to the start of the season to provide some centre depth after losing Jonathan Toews and Kirby Dach. It took the veteran a while to join the team but is set to replace Lucas Wallmark for his debut on Sunday. He had 17 goals and 18 assists (35 points) in 70 games with the Coyotes a season ago.
