Despite picking up 34 hits in his previous eight games played, Nathan Walker will be the odd man out of the lineup with Mathieu Joseph returning from an elbow injury on Friday. The 31-year-old will hope to return to the lineup soon as he continues to chase his career high in points from last season (16) with his 11 points in 32 games this year.

Mathieu Joseph will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks, allowing Walker to re-enter the lineup after an upper-body injury took him out for a few weeks. The 31-year-old Walker is averaging 12:38 time-on-ice and has nine points (3G / 6A) in 25 games this season.

Walker had played all but two games for the Blues this season, but will be sidelined for the foreseeable future after suffering an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old Walker was pacing for a career-high point total, with nine points (3G / 6A) through 25 games this season.


Mathieu Joseph will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals, allowing Walker to re-enter the Blues' lineup. The 31-year-old Walker has been effective in a bottom-six role for the Blues this season, scoring four points (1G / 3A) and recording a monstrous 42 hits.

Walker came out of nowhere to score three goals and four points in seven playoff games last season and has earned himself a two-year contract extension worth $887,500 AAV ($1.775M total). The 31-year-old Great Britain native is entering his ninth NHL season after setting career highs last season in assists (8), points (16), PIMs (63) and SOG (72).


Walker was scratched in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Dallas Stars but will re-enter the lineup on Monday against the Vancouver Canucks. The 30-year-old Walker is averaging 11:38 time-on-ice and has nine points (5G / 4A) in 42 games this season.


Brandon Saad will be a healthy scratch on Thursday against the Calgary Flames, allowing Walker to re-enter the lineup. The 30-year-old Walker is averaging 11:40 time-on-ice and has eight points (4G / 4A) in 38 games this season.

Alexandre Texier and Mathieu Joseph return to the Blues' lineup on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames, sending Nathan Walker and Zack Bolduc to the press box as healthy scratches. The 30-year-old Walker is averaging 11:40 time-on-ice and has eight points (4G / 4A) in 38 games this season.

Alexandre Texier will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday, allowing Walker to draw into the lineup for the first time since November 27th. The 30-year-old Walker is averaging 11:46 time-on-ice and has five points (3G / 2A) in 19 games this season.

Kasperi Kapanen suffered an upper-body injury on Tuesday and will be out of the lineup on Thursday, allowing Walker to draw in for the first time since October 19th. The 30-year-old Walker has one point (0G / 1A) and is averaging 10:28 time-on-ice through five games.



The Blues have signed the Welsh-born Walker to a two-year, $1.55 million contract extension on Tuesday. Walker has spent the majority of the 2023-24 season with the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL, scoring 29 points (13G / 16A) in 30 games.

Walker earned his call up from Springfield after producing 29 points (13G/16A) in 30 games played and is expected to make his season debut Thursday vs. Vancouver. The 29-year-old left-winger appeared in 58 games for the Blues in 2022-23, where he had two goals, eight assists, 43 SOG, 25 PIMs and a +10 plus/minus.

Walker has a goal, three assists, 16 SOG and 13 PIMs through 28 games but will be a healthy scratch Thursday as they take on Arizona. Josh Leivo will be his replacement as he heads to the press box.
