The contract will carry an $883,750 AAV cap hit for the undrafted free agent out of Boston College. The 22-year-old forward leads Boston College in goals (21) and is second in points (32) in 33 games this season.

Helleson was acquired from the Avalanche in the Josh Manson trade on Monday and signed with the Ducks on Tuesday. Helleson, who has 25 points (4G / 21A) in 32 games at Boston College this season, is expected to play in the AHL after the college season is over.

Hischier missed the last three games with a lower-body injury but will play Tuesday in Vancouver. Hischier figures to replace Mason Geertsen in the lineup and should be back in his second-line centre role.

Jost was selected No.10 overall in 2016 but has struggled to produce offensively, largely due to his role. Jost has played primarily as a bottom-6 forward this season due to the impressive depth in Colorado. Jost could play a more offensive role in Minnesota and heads there with six goals and eight assists (14 points) in 59 games this season.

The Avalanche frees up $1.275 million in AAV with this swap and acquire a bigger centre to play in their bottom-6. Sturm was an undrafted free agent out of Clarkson University, who has scored nine goals with eight assists (17 points) in 53 games with the Wild this season.

It's unclear when Bjornfot picked up an injury but he will not play Tuesday vs. the Avalanche. The injuries continue to pile up for the Kings, who will replace Bjornfot with Christian Wolanin.

Pettersson remains day-to-day with an upper-body injury and will miss his second straight game on Tuesday. Head coach Bruce Boudreau said Pettersson's injury is not a long-term issue and they hope he'll be able to play on Thursday.

Manson was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks on Monday and will immediately step into the Avalanche lineup on Tuesday. The Avalanche played a man down in their last game, so he won't replace anyone. Without a morning skate, it's unclear who he will skate next to in his debut.

Not only does it look like Thornton will be back in the lineup, it looks like he'll play on the top line with Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe. Thornton has just four goals and two assists (six points) in 24 games this season but will be amped up to face his former team in San Jose.
