MacKinnon will miss 1-2 weeks with a lower-body injury.

MacKinnon left Monday's game with a lower-body injury after getting tangled up with Martin Frk. The 1-2 week timeline means MacKinnon will miss 4-8 games. Martin Kaut was recalled from Colorado (AHL) and will draw into the lineup to replace MacKinnon on Wednesday. However, Vladislav Namestnikov could be the one to shift to centre on the first line.

Francouz will start Wednesday vs. the Rangers.

Francouz allowed three goals on 35 shots in Colorado's loss in Los Angeles on Monday. Francouz will make his fifth straight start tonight despite losing three of his last four (1-2-1) while posting a 3.70 GAA and .868 SV%. In come the Rangers, who have won 10 of their last 11 road games while averaging 3.73 goals per game.

Petersen is expected to start Wednesday vs. the Senators.

Petersen allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Kings win over the Wild last Saturday. Petersen is riding a three-game winning streak, posting a 1.67 GAA and .953 SV% in the process. Tonight he'll face a Senators team that played in Anaheim last night and have lost seven of their last eight road games (1-5-2) while scoring just 1.88 goals per game.

Hellebuyck will start Wednesday in Edmonton.

Hellebuyck allowed two goals on 38 shots in the Jets win over the Coyotes on Monday. Hellebuyck is riding an impressive three-game winning streak while stopping 90 of the 93 shots (.968 SV%) that he faced. In two meetings with the Oilers this season, Hellebuyck has gone 1-1-0 while stopping 47 of 50 shots (.940 SV%).

Smith will start Wednesday vs. the Jets.

Smith was pulled after allowing four goals on 21 shots in the Oilers loss in Chicago last Thursday. Mikko Koskinen has been simply outstanding in his last two starts but the Oilers will give him a breather after stopping a combined 90 of 94 shots (.962 SV%) in the last four days. As for Smith, he has gone 4-2-2 with a 2.88 GAA and .907 SV% in his last eight starts.

McDavid (illness) will return to the Oilers lineup on Wednesday.

McDavid was listed as a game-time decision for Monday's game but ended up getting scratched. He missed yesterday's practice but was back on the ice for Wednesday's morning skate and will play vs. the Jets. Since January 1st, McDavid is second in points-per-game, with 32 points (11G / 21A) in 21 games (1.52 P/gm).
