Since the Christmas break, Bernier is fifth in the NHL in SV% (.940) and sixth in the in GAA (1.86) while going 3-4-0 in seven starts. Tonight he faces a Sabres team that has lost four of their last five while scoring just 1.40 goals per game.
Markstrom allowed four goals on 42 shots in the Canucks loss in Boston on Tuesday. The loss snapped a three-game losing streak for Markstrom, who is now 10-9-1 with a 2.98 GAA and .909 SV% on the road this season. Tonight he faces a Wild team that is 4-2-0 while scoring 3.67 goals per game in the first six games of their home stand.
Hellebuyck surrendered two goals on 36 shots in the Jets overtime loss to the Predators on Tuesday. Hellebuyck has played better in his last two starts, stopping 72 of the last 76 shots (.947 SV%) that he's faced. The 26-year-old netminder has gone 1-1-1 with a 3.33 GAA and .902 SV% in three games vs. the Blues this season.
Koskinen stopped 24 of 26 shots in the Oilers loss in Arizona on Tuesday. Koskinen has played better in the last week, stopping 62 of the 66 shots (.939 SV%) that he's faced. Tonight he faces the Sharks for the second time this season--he stopped 33 of 35 shots in a 5-2 win in San Jose in mid-November.
Talbot gave up two goals on 21 shots before being ejected from the Flames loss to the Oilers last Saturday. Talbot has given up six goals on the last 55 shots (.891 SV%) that he's faced and is 4-3-1 with a 2.75 GAA and .917 SV% in his first 10 appearances at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
