The Blue Jackets have reassigned Matiss Kivlenieks to Cleveland (AHL).

As expected, Kivlenieks served as Joonas Korpisalo's backup the entire time and is swapping spots with Elvis Merzlikins after the weekend. Kivlenieks is back with Cleveland, where he is 5-1-2 with a 2.37 GAA and .909 SV% in seven games.

The Blackhawks have signed Alec Regula to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Regula, who was acquired from the Red Wings for Brendan Perlini, has enjoyed a great start to the 2019-20 season. He has been paired with Ryan Merkley on the London Knights (OHL) first pair is currently fifth on the team with 15 points (7G / 8A) in 14 games.

Demers (lower-body) will be a game-time decision on Monday.

Demers has missed the last two games but it looks like he will play in Washington. Demers is officially listed as a game-time decision but was on the ice for the morning skate and is expected to play. Demers has three assists and 15 shots in 15 games this season.

Jason Demers
Raanta will start Monday in Washington.

Raanta allowed four goals on 43 shots in the Coyotes loss in Calgary last Tuesday. Raanta has lost two straight while allowing four goals in each game and posting a .899 SV%. Darcy Kuemper has outplayed Raanta but some strong outings will help him carve into the No.1's workload. He draws a tough matchup on Monday, as the Capitals come in on a six-game winning streak while averaging 5.00 goals per game.

Antti Raanta
Merzlikins will start Tuesday in Montreal.

Merzlikins was sent to Cleveland (AHL) late last week to get some playing time but returned quicker than originally planned because Joonas Korpisalo struggled in Colorado on Saturday. Merzlikins hasn't been great this year either, going 0-1-2 with a. 3.90 GAA and .882 SV%. The Canadiens are 5-3-0 with 3.50 goals per game in eight games in Montreal.

Elvis Merzlikins
McGinn (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Monday.

McGinn was not on the ice for the Hurricanes' morning skate and will be a game-time decision vs. the Senators. McGinn doesn't bring a lot of offence to the table, collecting just four points (1G / 3A) in 17 games this season, so he shouldn't be considered for your rosters anyways.

Brock McGinn
Raanta is in the starter's crease at the Coyotes morning skate.

Crosby (lower-body) missed Monday's practice; questionable to play Tuesday.

Crosby was forced to leave Saturday's game vs. the Blackhawks with a lower-body injury and it seems as if he could miss Tuesday's game in New York. The Penguins have yet to release any information on Crosby's status but look for Jared McCann to skate in Crosby's spot if he can't play.

Sidney Crosby
Krug is questionable for Tuesday's game with an upper-body injury.

Krug was forced to leave Sunday's game vs. the Flyers with an upper-body injury and did not return. The Bruins recalled Urho Vaakanainen from Providence (AHL) on Monday, suggesting that Krug will not be available vs. the Panthers.

Torey Krug
The Bruins have recalled Urho Vaakanainen from Providence (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Tore Krug was hurt late in Sunday's game vs. the Flyers, so Vaakanainen's call-up suggests that Krug will miss Tuesday's game and the 20-year-old defenseman will make his season debut. Vaakanainen was a first-round pick (No.18 overall) in 2017 and has two assists in 15 games with Providence this season.

Urho Vaakanainen
The Red Wings have recalled Givani Smith from Grand Rapids (AHL).

This is the second time that Smith has been called up. During his first tour with the Red Wings, Smith had no points with four shots but carried an impressive 63.3 CorsiFor% in three games. During his time with the Griffins, the 21-year-old has scored three goals with four assists (seven points) in 10 games.

Givani Smith
Samsonov will start Monday vs. the Coyotes.

Samsonov allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Capitals win over the Flames last Sunday. Braden Holtby has started four of the last five games but Samsonov will face the Coyotes on Monday night. Samsonov has been outstanding this season, going 5-1-0 with a 2.38 GAA and .915 SV% in his first five starts and one relief appearance. Tonight he takes on an Arizona team that has lost three in a row.

Mrazek is in the starter's crease at the Hurricanes morning skate.

Mrazek gave up three goals on 18 shots in the Hurricanes loss to the Rangers last Thursday. Mrazek has lost two straight while allowing a combined seven goals on just 46 shots (.848 SV%). The Hurricanes have stumbled as of late and James Reimer lost in Ottawa on Saturday but it shouldn't be a matchup you shy away from with Mrazek. He is 6-1-0 with a 2.12 GAA, .916 SV% and one shutout at the PNC Arena.

Petr Mrazek
Nilsson will start Monday in Carolina.

Nilsson allowed one goal on 39 shots in the Senators win over the Hurricanes on Saturday. Nilsson won First Star of the Week honours last week, going 3-0-0 while posting a 1.64 GAA and .950 SV%. While he's been great and just beat the Hurricanes, they are dangerous on home ice. Carolina comes in at 6-3-0 while averaging 3.67 goals per game at PNC Arena.
