Kuznetsov (upper-body) is expected to play Friday.

Kuznetsov was nicked up in against the Maple Leafs but was on the ice for Friday's morning skate and is expected to play vs. the Sabres. Kuznetsov will centre the second line and comes in with five goals and four assists (nine points) in 11 games.

Evgeny Kuznetsov
Mrazek will start Friday vs. the Red WIngs.

Mrazek allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Hurricanes win over the Flames on Tuesday. After a few tough games, Mrazek has won two in a row while stopping 60 of the 61 shots (.983 SV%) that he has faced. He has gone 5-0-0 with a .930 SV% on home ice and is 1-1-0 with an .889 SV% in three games vs. Detroit since being traded in 2018.

Blackwood was the first goalie off of the ice at the Devils morning skate.

Blackwood gave up four goals on 16 shots in the Devils loss to the Coyotes last Friday. Cory Schneider started on Wednesday and was lit up for seven goals, so the Devils will come back to Blackwood on Friday. The 22-year-old has gone 2-1-2 with a 2.47 GAA, 893 SV% and one shutout in five starts a the Prudential Center this season.

Mackenzie Blackwood
Holtby will likely start Friday vs. the Sabres.

Holtby allowed three goals on 31 shots in the Capitals win in Toronto on Tuesday. It hasn't always been pretty at times but suddenly Holtby has won four of his last five (4-0-1) starts while posting a 2.95 GAA an .916 SV%. On Friday, he will face the 9-2-2 Sabres, who he was 1-1-0 with a .932 SV% against in 2018-19.

Mrazek is in the starter's crease at the Hurricanes morning skate.

After a few tough games, Mrazek has won two in a row while stopping 60 of the 61 shots (.983 SV%) that he has faced. The Canucks have recalled Sven Baertschi from Utica (AHL).

Baertschi was a surprise training camp casualty but has unsurprisingly dominated the AHL since then, tying for 10th in the league in points with 10 (2G / 8A) in just seven games. Micheal Ferland suffered an upper-body injury in a fight with Kyle Clifford on Wednesday, so look for Baertschi to take his spot in the lineup on Friday.

Sven Baertschi
The Maple Leafs have loaned Nic Petan to Toronto (AHL).

Toronto is actively shopping Petan right now but hasn't had any suitors yet. Petan has been a healthy scratch in three straight games and eight of the last nine, so he heads to the Marlies to get some playing time. In his most recent AHL stint, Petan had 52 points (15G / 37A) in 52 games with the Manitoba Moose back in 2018.

Nic Petan
The Capitals have recalled Liam O'Brien from Hershey (AHL).

Both Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nic Dowd are dealing with injuries and questionable for Friday's game, so O'Brien comes up and could make his season debut vs. Buffalo. The 25-year-old centre has just two points (1G / 1A) in 17 career NHL games and has registered three goals in his first nine AHL games this season.

Liam O'Brien
Brossoit will start Saturday in Vegas.

Brossoit allowed one goal on eight shots after replacing Connor Hellebuyck in the Jets loss in Anaheim on Tuesday. Brossoit has not played very well this season, posting a .852 SV% in three appearances. To make matters worse, he will be taking on a Vegas team that is very good on home-ice. On a positive note, he will go head-to-head with Malcolm Subban instead of Marc-Andre Fleury.

Laurent Brossoit
Hellebuyck will start Friday in San Jose.

Hellebuyck was yanked after giving up five goals on 19 shots in the Jets loss in Anaheim. What looked like a good matchup got out of hand early in the second period and resulted in Hellebuyck's worst outing of the season. He hasn't faced the Sharks yet this season but was 1-1-1 with a 3.62 GAA and .907 SV% in three starts against them last season.

Connor Hellebuyck
The Flyers sent Samuel Morin to Lehigh Valley (AHL) on Thursday.

Morin appeared in just one game of the Flyers' first 11 games with the Flyers and swaps places with Phillipe Myers so he can get some playing time in the AHL. The former first-round pick has played very little hockey since 2018, appearing in just 17 AHL games and eight NHL games thanks to a knee injury.

Samuel Morin
The Flyers sent Mikhail Vorobyov to Lehigh Valley (AHL) on Thursday.

Vorobyov appeared in five straight games for the Flyers, posting one assist in 9:04 ATOI. The Flyers are on a two-game losing skid so they made some roster moves ahead of their Friday/Saturday back-to-back. Vorobyov was replaced on the roster by German Rubtsov, who is expected to make his NHL debut in New Jersey.

Mikhail Vorobyev
The Flyers recalled Carsen Twarynski from Lehigh Valley (AHL) on Thursday.

Twarynski started the season with Philadelphia and scored one goal in his first six career NHL games. Upon returning to Lehigh Valley, the 21-year-old was held pointless in four games. Now, he comes back to the NHL where he is expected to play on the fourth line in New Jersey.

Carsen Twarynski
The Flyers recalled German Rubtsov from Lehigh Valley (AHL) on Thursday.

Rubtsov is a former first-round drafted pick (No.22 overall in 2016) and he was one of three players to be summoned from the AHL ahead of Friday's game in New Jersey. Rubtsov could make his NHL debut today after registering six points (1G / 5A) in his first seven games of the AHL season.

German Rubtsov
Hart will start Friday in New Jersey.

Hart allowed one goal on nine shots after replacing Brian Elliott in the Flyers' 7-1 loss in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Hart has had a really tough time as of late, giving up a combined 13 goals on just 52 shots (.750 SV%) in his last four appearances. He'll try to get back on track tonight when he faces a Devils team that is 2-2-1 while averaging 3.80 goals per game in their last five games.
