McDavid was a late scratch from Tuesday’s game vs. the Coyotes due to illness but is back in the lineup tonight vs. the Islanders. McDavid is on-pace for a career-best 116 points (44G / 73A) after recording 83 points (31G / 52A) in his first 57 games.

Seney was in the lineup for the last two games but will be replaced by Kurtis Gabriel on Thursday.

Gabriel was a healthy scratch on Tuesday but will replace Brett Seney on Thursday. Gabriel has one assist, three shots and 28 PIMS in nine games with the Devils.

Bobby Ryan is expected to miss Thursday’s game, so Archibald returns to the NHL. Archibald has no points in two games with the Senators but has eight points (2G / 6A) in 10 AHL games since coming over from Vancouver.

The Senators are expected to rest Matt Duchene on Thursday, so Chlapik gets his first call-up of the season. The 21-year-old, former second-round pick has 15 goals and 15 assists (30 points) in 41 games with Belleville this season.

Ryan missed Wednesday’s practice and the Senators coaching staff “highly doubts” that he will play on Thursday. The Senators are expected to ice a thin lineup with Ryan joining Matt Duchene (healthy scratch) in the press box.

Schenn was not on the ice for Thursday’s morning skate and he will not play in Dallas. Jaden Schwartz moved to the top line and Robert Thomas skated on the second line with Schenn out.

Arvidsson missed the morning skate but the Predators are hopeful that he will play on Thursday. Kevin Fiala skated on the top-line with Arvidsson taking the morning off, so expect him to remain there if Arvidsson is unavailable.
