Mrazek will start Thursday vs. the Red Wings.

Mrazek stopped all 23 shots that he faced in the Hurricanes shutout win over Arizona on Sunday. Mrazek played well Sunday after allowing a combined nine goals in his previous two starts. Overall, he is 5-6-2 with a 2.56 GAA and .899 SV% on the season, including a 21-save performance in a 3-1 win in his first start against his former team.

Petr Mrazek
Greiss will start Thursday in Vegas.

Greiss stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Islanders win in Colorado on Monday. Greiss has won three straight while allowing just six goals on 77 shots (.922 SV%). Greiss has been rock-solid this season, including in nine games on the road, where he has gone 5-2-0 with a 2.37 GAA and .931 SV%. However, there are few places in the NHL that are tougher to play in than Vegas.

Thomas Greiss
Johnson will be back in the Blackhawks lineup on Thursday.

Johnson has split his season between the NHL and AHL and will play his first NHL game since October 23rd. The 24-year-old has one assist in 13 games with the Blackhawks and seven points (4G / 3A) in 10 games with Rockford.

Luke Johnson
Varlamov will start Saturday in Arizona.

Varlamov allowed three goals on 20 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Islanders on Monday. Varlamov is in the middle of a rough stretch, having lost four of his last five while allowing a combined 21 goals on 135 shots (.844 SV%). Despite starting in the second game of a back-to-back, Varlamov has a good chance to get back in the win column in Arizona.

Semyon Varlamov
Grubauer will start Friday vs. Chicago.

Grubauer made 35 saves on 36 shots in Colorado’s win over the Canadiens on Wednesday. It was one of the best outings of the season for Grubauer, who has gone 3-1-1 with a 2.96 GAA and .893 SV% in five games at the Pepsi Center this season. He draws an excellent matchup of the season vs. a struggling Chicago team that is on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Philipp Grubauer
Petan is expected to be back in the Jets lineup on Thursday.

Petan has been a healthy scratch for the last 10 games but is expected to play on Thursday. There is no indication on who Petan will replace but it sounds like it could be Adam Lowry who is nicked up.

Nic Petan
Biega will draw into the Canucks lineup on Thursday.

Biega has been a healthy scratch for the last two games but will replace Troy Stecher in the lineup on Thursday. Biega has four assists and 29 shots in 11 games this season.

Alex Biega
Allen will start Thursday in Vancouver.

Allen stopped 22 of 23 shots in the Blues win in Edmonton on Tuesday. It was a nice bounce-back performance from Allen, who has now won three of his last four while allowing 11 goals on 106 shots (.896 SV%). In his first start against the Canucks, Allen was yanked after allowing three goals on six shots in a 6-1 loss on December 9th.

Jake Allen
Markstrom will start Thursday vs. the Blues.

Markstrom gave up two goals on 22 shots in the Canucks win over the Oilers on Sunday. Markstrom is riding a five-game winning streak while only giving up nine goals on 142 shots (.937 SV%). One of those wins came against the Blues, who he will face again tonight—he stopped 22 of 23 shots in a 6-1 win in St. Louis on December 9th.

Jacob Markstrom
Mrazek is expected to start Thursday vs. the Red Wings.

Petr Mrazek
Domingue will start Thursday in Calgary.

Domingue gave up three goals on 26 shots in the Lightning’s win over the Rangers on December 10th. With Andrei Vasilevskiy back healthy, Domingue likely won’t see a lot of starts but he comes into Thursday’s game riding a personal six-game winning streak. Domingue was great while Vasilevskiy was out but draws a terrible matchup tonight in Calgary.

Louis Domingue
Fleury will start Thursday vs. the Islanders.

Fleury allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Golden Knights win in New York on Sunday. Fleury went 2-0-1 on Vegas’ road-trip but his owners will be happy to see him return home. Fleury is 10-3-1 with a 1.99 GAA and .928 SV% in 14 games at T-Mobile Arena and will look to beat the Islanders for the second time in just over a week.

Marc-Andre Fleury
Kuemper will start Thursday vs. the Canadiens.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 32 shots in the Coyotes loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. Kuemper has dropped all three of his games since returning to the Coyotes crease, allowing a combined 10 goals on 91 shots (.890 SV%). Kuemper has had his moments this season but has been sub-par on most nights and is a risky option even against a Canadiens team on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Darcy Kuemper
Domingue is in the starter’s crease at the Lightning’s morning skate.

Hellebuyck is in the starter’s crease at the Jets morning skate.

Hellebuyck surrendered three goals on 30 shots in the Jets loss in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Hellebuyck, who has gone 5-2-0 with a 2.40 GAA and .921 SV% in seven starts in December. Tonight he will face a Sharks team that has won five in a row and seven of their last eight while averaging 4.25 goals for per game.

Connor Hellebuyck
Jones will start Thursday vs. the Jets.

Jones stopped all 26 shots that he faced in the Sharks shutout win in Minnesota on Tuesday. It was a huge bounce-back performance from getting pulled in Chicago two days before. Tonight he faces the Jets for the first time this season—he is 9-2-2 with a 2.62 GAA and .905 SV% on home-ice.

Martin Jones
Price will start Thursday in Arizona.

Price made 24 saves on 26 shots but it was not enough as the Canadiens fell to the Avalanche last night. Price has dropped two in a row but is 6-3-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .912 SV% in 10 December appearances so far. Starting on the road for a second straight night is a tough task but he draws a worthwhile matchup in Arizona.
