Allen will start Tuesday vs, the Panthers.

Allen was pulled after allowing three goals on six shots in the Blues loss to the Canucks on Sunday. Chad Johnson was waived and picked up by Anaheim, which means Allen will have to outplay Jordan Binnington for playing time moving forward. Tonight he takes on the Panthers on home-ice, where he is 4-4-2 with a 3.86 GAA and .879 SV%.

Jake Allen
Rinne is expected to start Tuesday vs. the Senators.

Rinne gave up four goals on 25 shots in the Predators loss in Vancouver last Thursday. The loss snapped a brief two-game winning streak for Rinne, who continues to lead the NHL in GAA (1.96) and SV% (.930). He’s a must-start against an Ottawa team that is missing some key pieces up front.

Pekka Rinne
The Ducks have claimed Chad Johnson off of waivers from the Blues.

Claiming Johnson suggests that Ryan Miller’s lower-body injury is going to cost him a good chunk of time. The Ducks have not provided an update on Miller’s status but expect Johnson to serve as John Gibson’s backup moving forward.

Chad Johnson
Kuemper (lower-body) will return to the Coyotes crease on Tuesday.

Kuemper has been out since November 21st but will start tonight with the red-hot Adin Hill serving as his backup. Kuemper has struggled at times this season, particularly on the road. The 28-year-old is 2-3-1 with an ugly 3.17 GAA and .902 SV% in six starts outside of Arizona.

Darcy Kuemper
Brossoit will start Tuesday vs. the Blackhawks.

Brossoit allowed three goals on 39 shots in the Jets win in New Jersey on December 1st. Brossoit has been one of the better backups in the NHL this season, posting a 2.16 GAA and .935 SV% in seven games. Even more impressive, Brossoit is 2-0-1 with a 1.62 GAA and .958 SV% on home-ice and is an excellent spot-start option vs. the Blackhawks tonight.

Laurent Brossoit
Rask will start Tuesday vs. the Coyotes.

Rask allowed one goal on 28 shots in the Bruins win in Ottawa on Sunday. In his last five starts, Rask has gone 3-2-0 with a 1.97 GAA and .932 SV%. The 31-year-old is playing very well and has a great matchup tonight with the Coyotes in town. Rask is 4-3-0 with a 2.31 GAA and .917 SV% on home-ice.

Tuukka Rask
Markstrom will start Tuesday in Columbus.

Markstrom allowed one goal on 23 shots in the Canucks win in St. Louis on Sunday. Markstrom has won back-to-back games, while stopping 48 of the 52 shots (.923 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he makes his first start against the Blue Jackets—Markstrom is 4-5-2 with a 3.23 GAA and .894 SV% on the road.

Jacob Markstrom
Hutton (upper-body) will be the backup on Tuesday.

Hutton missed Saturday’s game against the Flyers with an upper-body injury but is healthy enough to be Linus Ullmark’s backup on Tuesday. This should put Hutton in-line to start Thursday’s game against the Coyotes.

Carter Hutton
Ullmark will start Tuesday vs. the Kings.

Ullmark surrendered six goals on 41 shots in the Sabres loss to the Flyers on Saturday. Even though Carter Hutton is available tonight, the Sabres will tick with Ullmark after a rough outing. Ullmark has dropped three straight games while allowing a combined 13 goals on 114 shots (.886 SV%). Despite a recent stretch of poor play, he has a great matchup with the Kings in town on a back-to-back.

Linus Ullmark
Oshie (concussion) will be back in the Capitals lineup on Tuesday.

Oshie has missed the last 11 games with a concussion but will play Tuesday vs. the Red Wings. Oshie has a chance to get on the scoresheet right away as he will skate on the right wing with Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin. So far this season, Oshie has scored nine goals with five assists (14 points) in 18 games.

T.J. Oshie
Holtby will start Tuesday vs. the Red Wings.

Holtby stopped all 28 shots that he faced in the Capitals shutout win in Columbus on Saturday. The win snapped a brief two-game losing streak for Holtby, who is 6-2-0 with a 2.22 GAA and .930 SV% in eight games since returning from injury. In his first start against the Red Wings, Holtby stopped 31 of 32 shots in a 3-1 win.

Braden Holtby
Dubnyk will likely start Tuesday vs. the Canadiens.

Dubnyk was pulled after allowing three goals on six shots in the Wild’s loss in Edmonton last Friday. In his first 15 starts, Dubnyk went 9-4-2 with a 2.32 GAA, .926 SV% and two shutouts but has been terrible since. In his last seven games, Dubnyk has gone 1-5-0 with a 4.06 GAA and .847 SV%. He has a solid matchup with Antti Niemi in the other net but Dubnyk’s recent struggles make him a risky start.
