Luongo stopped all 13 shots that he faced in the Panthers season opener in Tampa Bay before leaving the game with a knee injury. Luongo went on to miss nine games, but will start the Panthers’ second game vs. the Jets in Finland. Patrik Laine scored a hat-trick to push the Jets passed the Panthers yesterday.
Prosser has been a healthy scratch in 11 of the Wild’s first 12 games this season. Even the game he played in, Prosser played just 3:03 TOI. He’ll go to Iowa to get some playing time, making it his first AHL stint since 2011-12.
Gravel has just one assist in five games with the Condors this season and has been recalled to take Evan Bouchard’s spot on the roster. Bouchard was sent to the OHL for the rest of the season, so Gravel will likely remain with the Oilers as their sixth/seventh defenseman. He has 10 points (1G / 9A) in 72 career NHL games with the Kings (70 GP) and Oilers (2 GP).
Bouchard, 19, was the 10th overall pick in this summer’s draft and picked up one goal while averaging 12:21 TOI/GM in seven NHL games. Bouchard was impressive, posting a 55.4 CorsiFor% and +11.0 CF% rel, thanks to a 64.3% Offensive-Zone start percentage. Bouchard returns to the London Knights, where he led the team with 87 points (25G / 62A) in 67 games last year.
Di Giuseppe has been a healthy scratch for 10 of the Hurricanes first 12 games, so he’ll go to Charlotte to get some playing time. The former second-round pick most recently picked up 12 points (4G / 8A) in 14 AHL games in 2017-18.
Donato was viewed as a young, breakout candidate in 2018-19, but has struggled early in the season. The former second-round pick had nine points in his first 12 games with the Bruins after leaving Harvard at the end of last season, but has picked up just one goal through 11 games this year. Donato will go to Providence to continue to develop and will likely return to Boston sometime in the near future.
Kulikov and Joe Morrow continue to shuffle in and out of the Jets lineup and Friday will be Morrow’s turn to play. Kulikov has registered just one assist in 11:57 TOI/GM in his first five games of 2018-19.
Roslovic has played in every game so far this season, but will give way to Nic Petan vs. the Panthers on Friday. The young centre played just 4:21 TOI yesterday and has averaged just 7:20 TOI/GM in 13 contests this season, amassing just two assists.
Morrow has been a healthy scratch for three of the last four games, but will replace Dmitry Kulikov in Friday’s game vs. the Panthers. Morrow is still searching for his first point, but has picked up 11 shots while playing 13:40 TOI/GM in 10 games this season.
Petan has sat as a healthy scratch for the first 13 games of the season, but will replace Jack Roslovic in the Jets’ lineup vs. the Panthers. The 23-year-old has impressed in the AHL, picking up 52 points (15G / 37A) in 52 games a season ago, but hasn’t been able to gain any traction with the Jets. Look for him to centre the fourth line with Brendan Lemieux and Andrew Copp on his wings today.
Hellebuyck allowed two goals on 38 shots in the Jets win over the Panthers yesterday. The Jets and Panthers will wrap-up their Global Series this afternoon and Hellebuyck will look to duplicate his performance from yesterday. The 25-year-old netminder has won three of his last five games with a 2.81 GAA and .917 SV%.
