Rinne (undisclosed) returned to practice on Friday.

Rinne left last Friday’s game in Calgary after a collision with Kevin Fiala and has missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury. There has not been a lot of news surrounding the severity of Rinne’s injury, but the fact that he was back on the ice this afternoon suggests that Rinne should be back soon. Monitor his status heading into Saturday’s game vs. the Oilers.

Pekka Rinne
Neuvirth will make his season debut on Saturday.

Neuvirth has missed the first nine games of the season but served as Brian Elliott’s backup on Thursday. Neuvirth allowed three goals on 31 shots in a win with Lehigh Valley (AHL) during his conditioning stint. Neuvirth will make his season debut on home-ice, where he was 4-4-3 with a 2.60 GAA and .914 SV% last season.

The Kings have assigned Sheldon Rempal to Ontario (AHL).

Rempal failed to record a point in three games with the Kings, so he returns to Ontario, where he leads the team in points with eight (4G / 4A) in four games. His return to the AHL opens the door for Dustin Brown to be activated from IR for Sunday’s game.

Sheldon Rempal
“There’s a chance” that Torey Krug (ankle) plays on Saturday.

Krug has missed the first 10 games of the regular season but could make his season debut on Saturday. Krug’s return would be a huge boost for the Bruins, who’s blueline is missing Charlie McAvoy, Kevan Miller and Urho Vaakanainen. Krug is coming off of the best season of his career, picking up 14 goals and 45 assists (59 points) in 76 games.

Torey Krug
Lehner will start Saturday in Philadelphia.

Lehner made 38 saves on 41 shots in the Islanders overtime loss to the Panthers on Wednesday. Since posting a shutout in his first start, Lehner has gone 1-2-1 with a 3.36 GAA and .907 SV% in his last four outings. This afternoon he faces the Flyers who come in at 4-6-0 and averaging 3.00 goals for per game (t-19th).

Robin Lehner
Rask will start Saturday vs. the Canadiens.

Rask allowed one goal on 39 shots in the Bruins win in Ottawa on Tuesday. Rask has won three of his last four starts while allowing a combined 12 goals on 134 shots (.911 SV%). Tonight he faces the Canadiens for the first time this season, but was 3-0-0 with a 1.62 GAA and .935 SV% against them last year.

Tuukka Rask
Koskinen will make his first start of the season in Nashville on Saturday.

Koskinen will make his first NHL start since February 13, 2011. The 30-year-old netminder played very well in the KHL, going 22-4-1 with a 1.57 GAA and .937 SV% last season but struggled in the preseason. In three games he was 1-1-0 while allowing a combined 10 goals on 69 shots (.855 SV%) and will be in tough in his Oilers debut. He has a career 4.33 GAA and .873 SV% as a young NHLer and isn't a good option in Nashville.

Mikko Koskinen
Neuvirth will likely make his season debut on Saturday.

Michal Neuvirth
Brossoit will start Friday in Detroit.

Brossoit stopped 42 of 45 shots in the Jets win over the Coyotes last Saturday. Through his first two starts as a Winnipeg Jet, Brossoit has turned away an impressive 84 of 88 shots (.955 SV%) two win both games. He should be able to continue his roll tonight in Detroit—the Red Wings are 1-6-2 while averaging the fourth fewest goals (2.22) in the league.
