Stone missed the Senators morning skate but will play on Monday.

Stone was given Monday morning off to “give him a break” because he has a “little nagging thing,” according to Senators head coach Guy Boucher. Stone comes into Monday’s meeting with the Stars with two goals and one assist in five games this season.

Mark Stone
Quick (lower-body) will skate on Monday and face shots on Tuesday.

Quick has been out since the Kings season opener but will be back on the ice for the first time on Monday. This is a huge step for Quick, who is expected to face shots tomorrow as the next step in his recovery. The Kings No.1 netminder remains without a timetable for his return so they will continue to roll with Jack Campbell between the pipes.

Jonathan Quick
Galchenyuk (lower-body) returned to the ice on Monday.

For the first time since suffering a lower-body injury in the preseason, Galchenyuk took to the ice in a non-contact jersey. The yougn centre was acquired from the Canadiens this offseason but his Coyotes debut was put on hold. This is the first step in Galchenyuk’s recovery and his return will be imminent once he shed that non-contact sweater.

Alex Galchenyuk
Stalock will start Monday in Nashville.

Stalock was 10-10-4 with a 2.85 GAA, .910 SV% and one shutout as the Wild’s backup last season. Devan Dubnyk has had a good start to the season, but they’ll get Stalock his first start of the season tonight in Nashville. The Predators come in at 4-1-0 while averaging 3.00 goals for per game.

Alex Stalock
Cholowski (upper-body) will return to the Red Wings lineup on Monday.

As expected, the rookie defenseman will draw back into the Red Wings lineup in Montreal. Cholowski has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but will replace Danny DeKeyser in tonight’s lineup. He has one goal and two assists in his first three games of his career. Look for him to log massive minutes tonight after averaging 22:10 TOI/GM so far.

Dennis Cholowski
The Avalanche have claimed Marko Dano off of waivers from the Jets.

Dano was a first round pick (No.27 overall) in 2013 but had just two goals and one assist in 23 games with the Jets last season. A deep lineup in Winnipeg forced Dano to play a third or fourth line role, but he could get a bigger chance with the Avalanche, who are devoid of middle-6 wingers.

Marko Dano
Bishop will start Monday in Ottawa.

Bishop allowed six goals on 29 shots in the Stars loss to the Maple Leafs last Tuesday. The Stars gave Bishop the night off on Saturday, so he comes into Monday’s start well rested. Prior to the loss to Toronto, Bishop had stopped 52 of 53 shots to start the season and is a great option tonight vs. the Senators.

Ben Bishop
Campbell will start Monday in Toronto.

Campbell was pulled after allowing four goals on 11 shots in the Kings loss in Ottawa on Saturday. It wasn’t all Campbell’s fault, the Kings did not look ready to play in the matinee and the rookie netminder paid the price. Overall, Campbell has been really good for Los Angeles with Jonathan Quick out, posting a 2.30 GAA, .938 SV% and one shutout in four games.

Jack Campbell

Schultz will miss at least four months after undergoing surgery on his fractured left leg.

Schultz underwent successful surgery to repair a fracture of his lower left leg on Sunday. Schultz is expected to miss at least four months, which will open the door for Jusso Riikola to become a full-time NHLer on the Penguins blueline. Jamie Oleksiak will draw n for Schultz on Tuesday and Olli Maatta will likely fill in for him on the second power-play unit.

Justin Schultz
Niemi will start Monday vs. the Red Wings.

Niemi allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Canadiens win over the Penguins on Saturday. Niemi won his first start of the season, filling in for Carey Price who was out with the flu. Price was back on the ice for Monday’s morning skate, but it looks like the Habs will stick with Niemi versus the Red Wings. Detroit is 0-3-2 and are averaging just 2.20 goals per game so far.

Antti Niemi
Rinne will start Monday vs. the Wild.

Rinne stopped all 29 shots that he faced in the Predators shutout win over the Jets last Thursday. Rinne will be rested frequently this season and got Saturday night off, so he will be fresh for tonight’s meeting with the Wild. Rinne has a .946 SV% in three starts this season, but was 1-3-0 with a .903 SV% vs. Minnesota last year.

Pekka Rinne
The Canucks have recalled Adam Gaudette from Utica (AHL).

Gaudette played five games with the Canucks last season after turning pro following his Junior year at Northeastern University. The 2015 fifth round pick led Northeastern with 60 points (30G / 30A) in 38 games and has had a nice start to his AHL career, amassing four points (2G / 2A) in four games. The 22-year-old will likely make his season debut in Pittsburgh on Tuesday with Vancouver losing two centres (Elias Pettersson and Jay Beagle) in Florida on Saturday.

Adam Gaudette
Beagle is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured forearm.

Beagle will miss at least one month with fractured forearm that he suffered in Florida on Saturday. With Beagle out and Elias Pettersson suffering a concussion in the game, Adam Gaudette has been recalled from the AHL and should make his season debut on Tuesday.

Jay Beagle
Sparks will start Monday vs. the Kings.

Sparks allowed six goals on 31 shots in the Maple Leafs overtime win over the Blackhawks on October 7th. Despite not having a back-to-back and Frederik Andersen winning three in a row, it looks like Sparks will face the Kings tonight. Los Angeles comes into Monday’s game averaging just 2.20 goals for per game—tied for 25th in the NHL.

Garret Sparks
Pettersson is expected to miss at least 7-10 days with a concussion.

Pettersson was forced to leave Saturday’s game in Florida after a controversial collision with Panthers’ defenseman Mike Matheson. Pettersson will remain with the team on their current road-trip—which goes through Pittsburgh on Tuesday and Winnipeg on Thursday—but will not see any game action for at least one week. Pettersson could be out longer, depending on how long he experiences concussion symptoms.

Elias Pettersson
The Penguins have recalled Derek Grant from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).

Grant spent all of last season with the Ducks, recording 12 goals and 12 assists (24 points) in 66 games. So far this season he has one goal in one AHL game but could draw into the Penguins lineup on Tuesday.
