NHL Hockey Player News

Lundqvist will start Tuesday in Minnesota.

Lundqvist stopped 37 of 38 shots in the Rangers win in Winnipeg on Sunday. Despite playing behind an extremely banged up lineup, Lundqvist has won two in a row while stopping 65 of the last 68 shots (.956 SV%) that he has faced. He will be in tough in Minnesota and the King comes in at 7-10-2 with a 2.81 GAA and .923 SV% on the road this season.

Henrik Lundqvist
Vermette is expected to draw back into the Ducks lineup on Tuesday.

Vermette was a healthy scratch on Sunday, but will likely be back in the lineup tonight in Detroit. Vermette, who has just 16 points (8G / 8A) in 55 games this season, was a healthy scratch in two of the last three games.

Antoine Vermette
McCormick will be back in the Senators lineup on Tuesday.

McCormick was a healthy scratch in Toronto on Saturday, but will return tonight in Pittsburgh. McCormick will replace Fredrik Claesson in the lineup as the Senators go back to 12 forwards and six defensemen. McCormick has just one goal in five games while averaging just 5:47 TOI with the Senators.

Max McCormick
Holtby will start Tuesday in Winnipeg.

Holtby surrendered five goals on 29 shots in the Capitals overtime loss to the Red Wings on Sunday. It definitely wasn’t Holtby’s best outing, but he’ll get right back between the pipes tonight in Winnipeg. The 28-year-old hasn’t been as consistent as he has been in recent years, but still remains a strong No.1 fantasy option. Tonight’s matchup is not ideal, so consider your other options if they have better matchups.

Braden Holtby
Gibson will start Tuesday in Detroit.

Gibson allowed two goals on 39 shots in the Ducks shootout loss to the Sharks on Sunday. It was a tough loss for Gibson, who has stopped 67 of 71 shots (.944 SV%) since returning to the Ducks’ crease over the weekend. He has a good matchup in Detroit tonight and makes for a solid start despite decent road numbers—2.49 GAA and .923 SV% in 16 games.

John Gibson
Moore will be back in the Devils lineup on Tuesday.

Moore was a healthy scratch vs. the Bruins on Sunday but will replace Mirco Mueller tonight in Philadelphia. Moore was given the second night of a back-to-back off, but he will likely be back playing big minutes tonight. Moore has six goals and eight assists (14 points) while averaging 19:56 TOI/GM in 54 games this year.

John Moore
Kinkaid will start Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Kinkaid allowed six goals on 50 shots in the Devils loss in Columbus on Saturday. Eddie Lack did not play much better the next night, so it looks like they’ll come back to Kinkaid tonight in Philadelphia. Kinkaid has won three and lost three in his last six starts while posting an ugly 3.30 GAA and .890 SV%. He is 1-1-0 with a 4.98 GAA and .813 SV% in two games vs. the Flyers this season.

Keith Kinkaid
Smith is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

The Flames avoided disaster as an MRI revealed that Smith’s injury is not as serious as originally feared. What looked like a groin injury turned out not to be groin related. However, the lower-body ailment will keep him out of at least the next two games and he will be re-evaluated after that.

Mike Smith
Domingue will start Tuesday in Buffalo.

Domingue allowed two goals on nine shots after replacing Andrei Vasilevskiy in the Lightning’s loss in Edmonton on February 5th. Since joining the Lightning, Domingue has gone 2-1-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .913 SV%. Tonight he will face a depleted Sabres lineup, who will be playing their second game without Jack Eichel.

Louis Domingue
Condon gets the nod for the Senators on Tuesday.

Condon allowed two goals on 30 shots after replacing Craig Anderson in the Senators loss in Toronto on Saturday. Condon has gone 2-7-2 with a 3.00 GAA and .913 SV% on the road this season. The 27-year-old netminder has struggled all season-long and will be in tough tonight in Pittsburgh—the Penguins have won six of their last eight (6-1-1) while averaging 4.25 goals for per game.

Mike Condon
Quick was the first goalie off of the ice at the Kings morning skate.

Quick stopped 13 of 14 shots after replacing Darcy Kuemper in the Kings loss in Tampa Bay on Saturday. Quick had his fair share of struggles in late-January, but has now stopped 48 of 50 shots (.960 SV%) in his last two outings. In his first start vs. the Hurricanes, Quick stopped 32 of 34 shots in a 3-2 OT win in early-December.

Jonathan Quick
Hellebuyck will be between the pipes on Tuesday.

Hellebuyck allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Jets loss to the Rangers on Sunday. Hellebuyck had been 6-0-0 in games played on Sunday before the loss, but it was even more surprising because the Rangers are extremely banged up. Tonight he faces the Capitals at the Bell MTS Place, where he has gone 19-3-2 with a 2.13 GAA and .927 SV% this season.

Connor Hellebuyck
Kinkaid is in the starter's crease at the Devils morning skate.

The Devils recalled Nick Lappin from Binghamton (AHL).

Lappin, 25, has one goal in two games with the Devils this season, but has spent the majority of the campaign in Binghamton. Lappin has collected 17 goals and 12 assists (29 points) in 42 AHL games and is expected to draw into the Devils lineup with Brian Boyle (shoulder) and John Quenneville (knee) out.

Nick Lappin
Rinne is in the starter's crease at the Predators morning skate.

Rinne allowed two goals on 49 shots in the Predators win in Montreal on Saturday. After losing in Toronto, Rinne got back in the win column on Saturday, giving him nine wins in his last 10 games. Tonight he will look to stay hot against the Blues, who he is 2-0-0 with a 0.50 GAA, .984 SV% and one shutout against this season.

Pekka Rinne
Boyle is day-to-day with a right shoulder injury; won’t play Tuesday.

Boyle was forced to leave Sunday’s game vs. the Bruins and is day-to-day with a right shoulder ailment. Nick Lappin has been recalled from Binghamton (AHL) and is expected to replace Boyle on Tuesday.
