The Sharks' only two wins in their last 11 games have come with Askarov in their crease (2-8-1). The 22-year-old Askarov has been impressive in limited NHL action this season, posting a solid 2.30 GAA and .923 SV% in seven games (3-2-2).

On the front end of a back-to-back, the Sharks will turn to Georgiev between the pipes on Friday against the Utah Hockey Club. Georgiev has lost five straight (0-5-0), allowing 20 combined goals, posting a .885 SV%. The 28-year-old netminder has a 3.53 GAA and .876 SV% in 24 appearances this season (9-12-0). San Jose enters Friday's contest as +242 road underdogs against a Utah team that defeated them 4-3 on December 14th.

Lycksell will draw back into Philadelphia's lineup on Saturday vs. Anaheim.

Lycksell has only played one NHL game this season but will draw into the Flyers' lineup on Saturday against the Anaheim Ducks. The 25-year-old Lycksell has been impressive at the AHL level, scoring 24 points (9G / 15A) in 25 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Connor Ingram has returned from an upper-body injury and subsequent conditioning stint with Tuscon (AHL) but will serve as the backup to Vejmelka on Friday against the San Jose Sharks. The 28-year-old Vejmelka has an impressive 2.43 GAA and .915 SV% in 25 games this season (9-11-3). He has lost four of his last five (1-4-1), posting a .907 SV%. Utah HC enters Friday's contest as significant -270 home favorites against a Sharks club that has failed to score more than three goals in 11 straight games (2-8-1).

Malenstyn (illness) skated on Friday and will be a game-time decision vs. Seattle on Saturday.

Malenstyn has not played since January 4th due to an illness but could return to the lineup on Saturday against the Seattle Kraken. The 26-year-old Malenstyn is averaging 10:30 time-on-ice, recording eight points (4G / 4A) in 40 games this season.

The Jets snapped a three-game losing skid in their most recent outing, a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators when Connor Hellebuyck saved 26 of 28 shots (.929 SV%), but the team will turn to Comrie on Friday. Comrie has lost six straight (0-6-0) but has been serviceable in limited action this season, posting a 3.05 GAA and .904 SV% in nine games (3-6-0). The Jets enter Friday's contest as -121 home favorites against a Los Angeles Kings club that is riding a four-game winning streak but has not played since January 4th.

Ekblad returned from a one-game absence in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Utah Hockey Club but his status for Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins remains up in the air. The 28-year-old Ekblad is averaging 23:32 time-on-ice, his highest total in four seasons, recording 20 points (2G / 18A), 55 blocks, and 59 hits in 41 games this season.

Bobrovsky will start vs. Boston on Saturday.

The Panthers will roll with Bobrovsky for a third straight game on Saturday when they host the Boston Bruins. Despite an unspectacular 4-3-0 record in his last seven games, Bobrovsky has been tremendous between the pipes for the Panthers, allowing three or fewer goals in each contest and posting a terrific .940 SV%. The 36-year-old netminder has a 2.69 GAA and .903 SV% in 28 games this season (18-9-1).

On the tail-end of a back-to-back, the Capitals will turn to Thompson between the pipes on Saturday against the Nashville Predators. The 27-year-old Thompson has grossly outperformed counterpart Charlie Lindgren this season but the two remain in a timeshare for Washington's crease. Thompson has an impressive 2.32 GAA and .919 SV% in 21 games this season (17-2-2).

Kane underwent successful knee surgery on Thursday in Edmonton and is expected to require four to eight weeks of recovery time

Kane has not played yet this season and will miss at least another four-to-eight weeks, recovering from knee surgery. The 33-year-old Kane has spent the previous three seasons with the Oilers, tallying 111 points (62G / 49A) in 161 games.

Doan has been recalled from Tucson (AHL).

Dylan Guenther (lower body) will be out of the lineup indefinitely, resulting in Utah HC recalled Doan from the Tuscon Roadrunners (AHL). The 22-year-old Doan played nine games with Utah earlier this season, scoring two points (1G / 1A), but has spent most of the 2024-25 campaign in the AHL, scoring 21 points (8G / 13A) in 25 games with Tuscon.
