NHL Hockey Player News

Markstrom will start Tuesday vs. the Kings.

Markstrom allowed four goals on 34 shots in the Canucks loss in Edmonton on Saturday. Anders Nilsson gave him Sunday off, so Markstrom will get back between the pipes tonight vs. the Kings. In his first start vs. Los Angeles, Markstrom surrender four goals on 36 shots in a 4-3 loss in late-December.

Jacob Markstrom
Gibson will start Tuesday vs. the Ducks.

Gibson allowed five goals on 22 shots in the Ducks loss to San Jose on Sunday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Gibson, who will make his 38th start of the season tonight. The 24-year-old has gone 9-6-2 with a 2.53 GAA, .928 SV% and one shutout in 17 starts against Eastern Conference teams this season.

John Gibson
Slepyshev will draw into the Oilers lineup on Tuesday.

Slepyshev will play for the first time since January 6th and will replace Mike Cammalleri vs. the Sabres. Slepyshev has picked up one goal and two assists (three points) in 18 games this season.

Anton Slepyshev
Chlapik (upper-body) will not play on Tuesday.

Chlapik replaced Mark Stone (lower-body) in the lineup on Monday but played just 7:58 TOI before leaving the game. The upper-body ailment will keep him out tonight so the Senators need to call-up another forward or go with with seven defensemen tonight.

Filip Chlapik
Stone (lower-body) will not play on Tuesday.

Stone will miss his second straight games with a lower-body injury that he suffered vs. the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Filip Chlapik who replaced Stone last night, is also hurt so the Senators may have to call up another forward or roll with seven defensemen tonight.

Mark Stone
Talbot will start Tuesday vs. the Sabres.

Talbot allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Oilers win over the Canucks on Saturday. Talbot has now won his last two starts while stopping 59 of 63 shots (.937 SV%). Talbot will look to get on a roll and drag the Oilers back into playoff contention and he draws a great matchup tonight vs. the Sabres. Buffalo is an ugly 6-14-6 on the road this season.

Cam Talbot
Anderson will start Tuesday in St. Louis.

Anderson allowed four goals on 33 shots in the Senators loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Mike Condon started last night so Anderson will be in goal tonight in St. Louis. Anderson has gone 3-3-1 with a 3.73 GAA and .908 SV% in seven starts in January. One of those losses came last Thursday vs. the Blues—he allowed three goals on 36 shots in a 4-1 loss.

Craig Anderson
Domingue will likely start Tuesday in Nashville.

Domingue allowed two goals on 36 shots in the Lightning’s win in Detroit on January 7th. It was a great debut for Domingue, who will likely make his second start with the Lightning tonight in Nashville. His opponent comes in having won five in a row while averaging 2.80 goals for per game.

Louis Domingue
Paajarvi will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday.

Paajarvi has not recorded a point in his last 15 games and has just four points (2G / 2A) in 44 games this season. Paajarvi will come out of the lineup and Carl Gunnarsson will suit up as the seventh defenseman.

Magnus Paajarvi
Reimer will start Tuesday in Dallas.

Reimer allowed three goals on 36 shots in the Panthers win over the Golden Knights last Friday. Unfortunately for Reimer, he has allowed at least three goals in five of his last six starts. The 29-year-old has gone 5-8-3 with a 2.93 GAA and .913 SV% in 16 road starts this season and Dallas is 16-6-1 on home ice.

James Reimer
Elliott will start Tuesday in Detroit.

Elliott stopped 27 of 28 shots in the Flyers overtime win in Washington on Sunday. Elliott made a number of huge saves to earn his fourth win in five starts (4-1-0) while allowing 16 goals on 140 shots (.886 SV%). Elliott allowed three goals on 28 shots in a 4-3 win in his first start against the Red Wings.

Brian Elliott
Saros will likely start Tuesday vs. the Lightning.

Saros stopped all 43 shots that he faced in the Predators shutout win over the Golden Knights last Tuesday. Pekka Rinne started the last two games, but Saors is expected to see the Lightning tonight. Saros has gone 4-1-2 with a 1.14 GAA, .967 SV% and three shutouts in his last seven starts. Tampa Bay comes in on the tail-end of a back-to-back after a 2-0 win in Chicago last night.
