Gibson will start Saturday in Calgary.

Gibson allowed one goal on 34 shots in the Ducks loss in Edmonton on Thursday. Regardless of the loss, it was another strong outing for Gibson, who has been spectacular as of late. He has won three of five while posting a 1.39 GAA, 949 SV% and one shututout. The 24-year-old is also 1-1-0 with a 1.55 GAA and .942 SV% against Calgary this season.

John Gibson
Bernier will start Saturday vs. the Wild.

Bernier stopped all 34 shots that he faced in Colorado’s shutout win over the Blue Jackets on Thursday. Bernier extended his personal winning streak to three games, turning aside 82 of the last 85 shots (.965 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he takes on a Wild team that is fully healthy and come in winners of four of five, averaging 3.80 goals for per game.

Jonathan Bernier
Quick was the first goalie off of the ice at the Kings morning skate.

Quick surrendered four goals on 41 shots in the Kings loss in Calgary on Thursday. It was a busy night for Quick, who has lost three of his last five while posting a 2.41 GAA, .929 SV% and one shutout. In 15 starts at the STAPLES Center this season, Quick has gone 8-5-2 with a 2.18 GAA and .932 SV%.

Jonathan Quick
Howard will not be available for Sunday’s game vs. the Lightning.

Howard finished Friday’s win over the Panthers but was not on the ice for Saturday’s practice and will not play on Sunday. Petr Mrazek will get the nod and look for a goalie to be recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL) to serve as the backup.

Jimmy Howard
Talbot will start Saturday in Dallas.

Talbot allowed one goal on 34 shots in the Oilers win over the Ducks on Thursday. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Talbot, who is now 15-13-2 with a 3.00 GAA and .905 SV% on the season. The 30-year-old has gone 1-1-0 with a 5.00 GAA and .811 SV% in two starts vs. the Stars this season.

Cam Talbot
Smith will start Saturday vs. the Ducks.

Smith allowed three goals on 31 shots in the Flames win over the Kings on Thursday. Smith has been victorious in three of his last five starts while allowing 12 goals on 166 shots (.928 SV%). The veteran netminder has played very well against Anaheim this season, going 1-1-0 with a 1.02 GAA and .976 SV% in two meetings.

Mike Smith
Elliott led the Flyers onto the ice for warmups.

Elliott allowed four goals on 31 shots in the Flyers win over the Islanders on Thursday. After a rough night in Pittsburgh, things didn’t get much better against the Isles but it was enough to record his 15th win of the season. This afternoon he gets a chance against his former team but comes in having allowed at least three goals in four consecutive games.

Brian Elliott
Niskanen (upper-body) is expected to be back in the Capitals lineup on Sunday.

Niskanen missed Tuesday’s game in Carolina but was back on the ice for Saturday’s practice and should play on Sunday. Niskanen scored in his last game (vs. NJD), bringing his season total to three goals and eight assists (11 points) in 27 games.

Matt Niskanen
The Oilers have activated Al Montoya (concussion) from IR.

The Oilers acquired Montoya from Montreal via trade and have placed Laurent Brossoit on waivers for the purpose of assignment, so Montoya will be Cam Talbot’s backup going forward. Montoya has only appeared in four games this season but has a career .908 SV%.

Al Montoya
Vasilevskiy will start Saturday in Ottawa.

Vasilevskiy allowed on goal on 38 shots in the Lightning’s shootout loss in Montreal on Thursday. It was a rare loss for Vasilevskiy, who was still outstanding despite the end result. Vasilevskiy has gone 11-4-1 with a 1.63 GAA and .951 SV% on the road and already has one win over the hapless Senators this season.

Andrei Vasilevskiy
Anderson will start Saturday vs. the Lightning.

Anderson allowed five goals on 35 shots in the Senators overtime win over the Sharks. Despite letting a lot of rubber get behind him, the Senators will go right back to the veteran netminder tonight against the NHL’s top team. This is a terrible spot for Anderson, making him an extremely risky fantasy option tonight.

Craig Anderson
Allen will start Saturday in Philadelphia.

Allen allowed three goals on 28 shots before leaving in the Blues loss in Dallas on December 29th. Carter Hutton is red-hot so he started the last three games, but Allen will get back in the crease for the front-end of the Blues’ back-to-back. Allen has lost six of his last seven starts while posting a 2.68 GAA and .913 SV%.
