Kempe picked up two goals and two assists in 18 games with the Coyotes this season but has been a healthy scratch in the last five games. Kempe has been sent back to Tucson so the Coyotes could recall Dylan Strome.
Strome has ripped it up at lower-levels early in his career but still hasn’t been able to find his stride in the NHL. He will look to change that this time around after picking up eight goals and 18 assists (26 points) in 15 games with the Roadrunners this season.
Dadonov underwent an MRI on Sunday but the Panthers have yet to release an official injury report on the first-year forward. Dadonov has had an excellent first 22 NHL games, collecting seven goals and 11 assists (18 points), but it sounds like he will miss a little bit of time.
Malgin, 20, has split his time between Florida and Springfield this season and this call-up will likely result in him drawing into the lineup for the injured Evgeni Dadonov (shoulder). Malgin has 14 points (4G / 10A) in 13 AHL games but has failed to record a point in five games with the Panthers.
Lundqvist stopped 40 of 41 shots in the Rangers overtime win over the Red Wings on Friday. It was an excellent outing for King Henrik, who has won three straight while posting a 0.67 GAA, .979 SV% and one shutout. This afternoon he is expected to face the Canucks at home-ice, where he is 8-3-2 with a 2.38 GAA and .919 SV% this season.
Bishop allowed four goals on 38 shots in the Stars win over the Flames last Friday. In his last four appearances (one relief) Bishop has posted a 2.19 GAA and .932 SV% and continues to be much better on home-ice than on the road. Tonight he will play in one of the toughest buildings in the NHL against a Golden Knights team that is 9-1-0 while averaging 4.40 goals for per game on home ice.
Markstrom allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Canucks loss in New Jersey on Friday. Markstrom has now lost four of his last five starts while allowing a combined 16 goals on 157 shots (.898 SV%). Markstrom is 4-3-0 with a 2.57 GAA and .910 SV% in seven starts and a relief appearance on the road this season.
Darling allowed one goal on nine shots after replacing Cam Ward in the Hurricanes’ loss to Toronto on Friday. Darling hasn’t been as good as the Hurricanes were hoping through his first 16 appearances of the season and he’ll have a tough time getting on track today with the red-hot Predators in town.
Goldobin, 22, has had a strong start to the year with Utica, collecting seven goals and 12 assists (19 points) in 18 games. The Russian winger could make his season debut this afternoon and returns to the Canucks where he had three goals in 12 games last season.
Boo Nieves will miss Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury so Desharnais will play between Jimmy Vesey and Paul Carey this afternoon. Desharnais has been a healthy scratch in the last three games and comes into play with just eight points (2G / 6A) in 20 games.
Nieves left Friday’s game vs. the Red Wings with a lower-body injury and will be kept out of the lineup vs. the Canucks despite taking the ice for Saturday’s practice. Nieves is day-to-day and will be replaced by David Desharnais today.
McDonagh is battling a strained abdomen muscle and is set to miss another game this afternoon vs. the Canucks. With McDonagh still out, Steven Kampfer will remain in the lineup.

van Riemsdyk has recorded just two assists in 18 games so far this season and based on Saturday’s practice he will be replaced by Klas Dahlbeck in the lineup this afternoon.
Dahlbeck has been a healthy scratch for most of the season, but it looks like he will play in his fifth game with the Hurricanes this afternoon. Dahlbeck has no points in four games and is expected to replace Trevor van Riemsdyk in the lineup today.
