NHL Hockey Player News

Sceviour (upper-body) will return to the Panthers lineup on Saturday.

Sceviour has missed the last five contests with an upper-body injury, but will return tonight vs. the Rangers. In six games this season, Sceviour has scored one goal with one assist. He will skate on the fourth line with Derek MacKenzie and Michael Haley tonight—limiting his fantasy value.

Colton Sceviour
Hellebuyck will start Saturday vs. Montreal.

Hellebuyck allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Jets win over the Stars on Thursday. Hellebuyck extended his wining streak to three, allowing just four goals on 84 shots (.952 SV%). Hellebuyck has been one of the pleasant surprises to start 2017-18 and will make his fourth straight start tonight against a Montreal team that comes in at 4-8-1.

Connor Hellebuyck
Allen will start Saturday vs. the Maple Leafs.

Allen stopped 21 of 22 shots in the Blues’ shutout loss to the Flyers on Thursday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Allen, who has allowed just six goals on 112 shots (.946 SV%) in his last four starts. Tonight he faces a Toronto team that has lost four of their last five games.

Jake Allen
Neuvirth will start Saturday vs. Colorado.

Neuvirth stopped all 33 shots that he faced in the Flyers’ shutout win in St. Louis on Thursday. Despite having a depleted blueline in front of him, Neuvirth stood tall and recorded his first shutout of the season. Tonight he faces a Colorado team that has won three of their last four while averaging 4.00 goals for per game.

Michal Neuvirth
Bieksa (hand) is on the ice for warmups; expected to return vs. the Predators.

Bieksa has missed the last four games with a hand injury, but will draw back into the lineup tonight vs. the Predators. Bieksa, who has recorded two assists in seven games so far this season, will replace Jaycob Megna tonight and is expected to skate with Sami Vatanen.

Kevin Bieksa
Gibson leads the Ducks onto the ice for warmups.

Gibson allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Ducks loss to the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. With the loss, Gibson moves to 3-3-1 with a 2.61 GAA and .927 SV% on home ice this season. Tonight he will look to win his sixth game of the season against a Predators team that hasn’t scored as much as they’d have liked to so far.

John Gibson
Ritchie (upper-body) will miss the next two games; not expected to miss an extended period of time.

Ritchie will miss his seconds straight game with an upper-body injury that he suffered din Vancouver on Monday. The soonest that Ritchie can return is Monday vs. the Jets. The power forward has not performed as the Stars had hoped he would, collecting just two points (1G / 1A) in 12 games this season.

Brett Ritchie
The Panthers have sent Denis Malgin back to Springfield (AHL).

Malgin has appeared in the last five games with the Panthers, but with Jared McCann, Colton Sceviour and Connor Brickley expected to return to the lineup on Saturday, Malgin has been returned to the AHL. The 20-year-old has one assist in three games with Springfield this season.

Denis Malgin
Lehtonen will start Saturday vs. Buffalo.

Lehtonen stopped 29 of the 30 shots that he faced in the Stars’ win in Calgary last Friday. Ben Bishop has started 11 of the Stars first 13 games, but Lehtonen will get a chance tonight vs. the Sabres. Lehtonen has stopped 43 of the last 45 shots (.956 SV%) that he has faced in his last two appearances—he makes for a reasonable spot-start tonight.

Kari Lehtonen
Talbot will start Friday vs. the Devils.

Talbot allowed three goals on 30 shots in the Oilers’ loss to the Penguisn on Wednesday. Talbot has lost four of his last five starts while allowing a combined 15 goals on 160 shots (.906 SV%). Tonight he will face a Devils team that has impressed early on, starting the season at 9-2-0.

Cam Talbot
Price is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Price, who has not looked like himself so far this season, will miss some time with what is being called a minor lower-body injury. With Price hurt, Charlie Lindgren is expected to be recalled from Laval (AHL) to serve as Al Montoya’s backup on Saturday. Consider Price as questionable for Sunday’s game in Chicago.

Carey Price
Montoya will start Saturday in Winnipeg.

Montoya allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Canadiens’ win in Ottawa on Monday. With Carey Price battling a lower-body injury, Montoya will start tonight in Winnipeg. He has had a mixed bag of results through his first three appearances and draws a tough matchup against a Jets team that comes in on a three-game winning streak.

Al Montoya
Rask will start Saturday vs. the Capitals.

Rask allowed one goal on 29 shots in the Bruins’ win over the Golden Knights on Thursday. The win was his first since opening night and snapped a five-game losing streak for Rask, who comes into this weekend’s meeting with the Capitals at 2-1-1 with a 2.21 GAA and .918 SV% on home-ice so far this season.

Tuukka Rask
Crawford will start Saturday in Minnesota.

Crawford stopped all 35 shots that he faced in the Blackhawks’ shutout win over the Flyers on Wednesday. Coming into Wednesday, Crawford had lost three of his previous four starts, but comes into Saturday as one of the best goalies in the NHL though the first month of the season. He is a must-start option until further notice.

Corey Crawford
Gibson is expected to start Friday vs. the Predators.
