Hill, 21, was a third round pick in 2015 (No.76 overall) and appeared in 40 games with the Roadrunners last season. The Canadian netminder posted a 3.16 GAA and .906 SV% last year, but has impressed through two starts this season, going 1-1-0 while stopping 30 of 31 shots (.968 SV%) in two starts with Tucson. He will likely serve as Louis Domingue’s backup on Tuesday.
Connor, 20, who was expected to make the Jets out of training camp, was sent to Manitoba to open the season and has picked up three goals and two assists (five points) in four games with the Moose. Connor will replace Mathieu Perreault in the lineup and is expected to skate with Bryan Little and Patrik Laine on Tuesday. Connor has five points (2G / 3A) in 20 career NHL games.
Perreault got hurt vs. the Hurricanes on Saturday, leaving after 13:11 TOI. Perreault picked up one goal and two assists in five games before getting hurt, but will be replaced by Kyle Connor on the second line on Tuesday.
Malgin spent most of last season with the Panthers, but did collect 12 points (3G / 9A) in 15 AHL games and has picked up one assist one three games with Springfield this season. There’s no word whether or not Malgin will draw into the lineup on Tuesday.
Vasilevskiy stopped 28 of 29 shots in the Lightning’s win over the Blues on Saturday. Vasilevskiy has won three straight starts while allowing eight goals on 95 shots (.916 SV%). Vasilevskiy will start his sixth consecutive game and comes into tonight tied for the NHL-lead in wins (4)—Vasilevskiy is 3-0-0 in his career vs. Detroit.
Anderson stopped all 25 shots that he faced in the Senators’ shutout win in Calgary on Friday. Mike Condon gave him the night off on Saturday, so they’ll come back to Anderson tonight vs. the Canucks. He faced Vancouver last week, stopping 26 of 28 shots in the victory—roll him out again.
Karlsson missed the first five games of the season, but took off his no-contact sweater on Monday and skated alongside Dion Phaneuf in practice. After the session Karlsson confirmed that he will make his season debut on Tuesday. The Senators have yet to lose in regulation (3-0-2) and getting their captain back will be a massive boost. Karlsson is coming off of a season in which he recorded 17 goals and 54 assists (71 points) in 77 contests.
Miller, who was signed by the Ducks this offseason, has yet to make his Anaheim debut because of a wrist injury that he suffered in the preseason. With Miller out, Reto Berra has handled the backup duties behind John Gibson, but it looks like Miller could be back this week. The Ducks only have one game this week and are off until Friday, so Miller’s debut might not come until next week.
Eller’s status for Tuesday’s game vs. the Maple Leafs is in question after missing Monday’s practice session with an illness. With Eller not on the ice, Tyler Graovac centred the Capitals’ third line. Eller has just assists in six games this season and doesn’t carry much fantasy value as a bottom-6 option in Washington.
Karlsson has missed the first five games of the season as he recovers from offseason foot surgery, but he was cleared for contact and skated as a regular in today’s practice which suggests his season debut is just around the corner. The Senators have done a really good job without their captain, starting 3-0-2 and winning all three of their contests on their recent three-game western Canada road-trip. Ottawa hosts the Canucks tomorrow and it looks like Karlsson will be ready to go.
McQuaid left the game after blocking a Colin Miller slapshot and had to be helped off of the ice. Miller was hit directly on the knee and could be forced to miss some time. Thankfully the Bruins have three days off before they take on the Canucks on Thursday. Monitor his status as the week moves along.
Spooner suffered the injury just two shifts into the second period and finished the contest with just 6:42 TOI. Spooner was replaced by Danton Heinen on the Bruins top power-play unit, so look for that to potential continue if Spooner is forced to miss any time.
